inmate running the asylum
Originally posted by Ancalagon the Black Can other teams pick you up off IR for the practice squad and put you on regular IR? No. You cant sign players off other team's IR list. If the Skins consider him healed later and release him, then other teams can sign him because he is then a free agent. Most of the time players on IR are so seriously injured, that by the time they have healed, along with getting back in shape, their season is finished. Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago had the option of putting WR Patrick Johnson on IR or making an injury settlement with him, after he broke some bones in his hand. I guess it was by mutual agreement, but anyway they made an injury settlement. I then read that he is a free agent now -- except that he is still injured --which allows any team to sign him now, except Cincinnati. But no team is going to sign him while he is rehabbing, and Cincinnati I read has a waiting period and can only resign him sometime in November.
