skins0128
Makes sense since most of the guys in the NFL are too young to remember Gibbs.
The Sir
"Based on a survey of 354 current and former players. Players were not allowed to vote for their head coaches" I don't see how this poll tells anybody anything. They're not allowed to vote for someone that you play/played for. Seems kind of stupid but I understand that every player is probably going to say their own coach. I don't know that there is a good way that they could have done these polls. Hooper
But not too young to remember how much they hate Coughlin. Great move by the New York front office there.
Ball Coach
I have no respect for the players oppinion on coaches. Take the Redskins for example. They force Turner out because he is too soft, so they go out and get Marty, who of course turns out to be too tough, so they go out and get somebody who is softer than the guy they fired the first time. Henry
Parcells is on the best and worst coach list. Go figure.

LOL.. totally agree. I honestly think that Spurrier was affected by Marty's firing. In college, Spurrier was firey, demanding etc... then with the Skins, he was subdued. I think he was too aware of the revolt against Marty. Bottomline is that no matter how big an ass a coach is, if the team wins, no one cares. But as soon as things don't go right, everyone jumps ship.

jrfriedm
Gibbs is the only current NFL coach in the Hall of Fame. ANd the only other current coaches that really have a shot at making the HOF (as of right now) is Parcells and Bilichick.
TimFolk
Vermeil will be in the hall 1st ballot.
Ball Coach
Technically, it will not be Vermeil's first time on the ballot.
