bubba9497
Redskins 2nd in ticket price http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20040908-121158-2385r.htm THE WASHINGTON TIMES The Washington Redskins have the second most expensive ticket ($68.12 average) in the NFL behind the New England Patriots, according to industry newsletter Team Marketing Report. The Redskins have held the runner-up slot for three years after leading the league for much of the team's stay at FedEx Field. Washington's ticket prices, ranging from $44 to $79 for nonluxury seats, have remained level for three years. The average NFL ticket costs $54.75 this season, 4.9 percent higher than a year ago and by far the most expensive of the country's four major sports leagues. Redskins officials have long disputed the findings of TMR, believing the league-leading capacity of FedEx Field is to blame for the ranking rather than price. Several clubs, including the Patriots, sell some prime location seats in their nonluxury categories at higher prices than Washington's $79 peak level. But TMR's surveys no longer include club seats, a category where the Redskins have more seats than any other team in the league and some of the most expensive prices. The Patriots lead the NFL with an average ticket price of $75.33. Buffalo ranks as the cheapest at $37.13. — Eric Fisher
