Freeman must be worn out - that;'s too bad.

I remember a lot of people around here wanting Gildon. - I wonder if Ravens take another look at him with Boulware being out 6 weeks.

Remember when Dwight Clark and Carmen Policy were being lauded while Snyder was been pilloried back in 2000 for their management styles and abilities? :)

Well, the Browns took Tim Couch, Courtney Brown with the first pick in consecutive drafts and neither player looks to be a playmaker.

Meanwhile, the Redskins take Arrington, Samuels, Gardner and Ramsey in consecutive years and all four are still on our team and playing productively.

Guess the train doesn't originate in Cleveland, eh? :D

Levens has been a big zero the past 2 years, I still don't know why teams are trading him back and forth.

Buckley is 37 or 38 years old. Really, how much are you going to get out him? He couldn't even make it as a #4 corner somewhere else and you want him here?

FB Jamar Martin was somewhat of a surprise. He was our best blocking back and started all 4 preseason games at FB.

FB Darian Barnes just showed a little more with his excellent special teams play.

Only Martin will likely latch on with another team.

The other players, especially FB Polite DB Crowder, LB Fowler and DT Brooks are practice squad worthy, at a minimum.

IRVING, Texas -- The most popular number in the NFL this time of year is 53.

That's the number teams must trim their roster to by Sunday afternoon, but the Cowboys will actually start off the regular season this week with 54 players, although that's not exactly good news.

After releasing nine more players Sunday afternoon, including third-year fullback Jamar Martin, the Cowboys received news from the NFL Sunday that starting defensive tackle Leonardo Carson will be suspended without pay for the first regular-season game for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy.

Carson, who received a 30-day jail sentence this past June after pleading guilty for a pair of incidents that occurred while he was a member of the Chargers more than a year ago, is eligible to return to the Cowboys' active roster on Monday, Sept. 13, following this week's season opener in Minnesota next Sunday.

But with the suspension, it allows the Cowboys to now keep 54 players, including Carson, on the active roster this week.

There weren't many big surprises this time around, other than Jamar Martin, who had started every preseason game and appeared to be the team's best true blocking back.

Here are all nine players released by the Cowboys Sunday afternoon:

FB Jamar Martin

LB Ryan Fowler

S Steve Cargile

S Tom Crowder

G Thomas Herrion

TE Landon Trusty

WR Terrence Copper

FB Lousaka Polite

DT Jermaine Brooks

And I dont think BP will be giving Ross another shot.

What a fall for him. Cut from Atlanta, New Orleans and Minnesota.

Ouch!

there was no drama to the releases for Dallas this season. last year's team was very young and a lot of the players had yet to establish themselves and their reputations.

the Cowboys didn't start to acquire older retreads until this offseason :)

so NEXT summer I expect to see some fun with the release of guys like Testaverde, Keyshawn Johnson and Eddie George

Nah.

George wont get cut because he wont be resigned.

And Testaverde, if resigned wont be cut. He will be a perfect backup for Henson.

And Key? Come on. BP loves him like a son. Aint gonna happen. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if the Skins claim DT/DE Bryan Robinson from the Bears, because of the Greg Blache connection. :)
