halter91
but were the Falcons that bad, or did we just play well?? Thanks for the help, I'll have to checm out ESPN in the morning when i get home. And # 56...I love you!
WallyG3
In the first quarter, it looked like both. Our D was awesome, and the offense looked pretty good. They were helped by a penalty, but still good. Cooley had a great play, Jacobs looked good, Betts looked good, Brunell looked better, pass protection was on. It was just good. bulldog
Atlanta lacked intensity, the Redskins rebounded nicely from a lackluster effort against the Rams, and the quick start by the defense caused the Falcons to put the wraps on Vick earlier than expected. It was all downhill from then. I don't know whether the Falcons just had a bad night up front but their starting OL and backups made our starting DL and backups look like gold. Also the Falcons were missing both starting corners so there is an open question as to how good this team will be during the season. People are expecting playoffs in Atlanta just because Vick is back, but with a new coach, new system and a bunch of holes elsewhere left to fill I think the Falcons are still in rebuilding mode. Coach Williams
We blitzed and they didn't block.... we passed and their corners we both out we ran and they were lost..... they blitzed and we scored they passed and their wr's were blanked=int's & sacks they ran and we knew it...( stuffed ) _________________________ I dunno what to think...either way this momentum makes my Tampa bay pick even harder....As I said it's gonna come down to the injury report thursday morning. I hope everyone plays....except barrow who's too injured......If so we win..... If samuels is out we're goners......Rice already said kiffin' is planning for a 10 sack game against us. Simeon Rice, " Both of their tackles are out and I'm licking my chops." Brunell better think fast and portis better run like a 250LB man if we are going to wear down this team. halter91
Colley did look damn good, i saw him bust a few tackles on NFL No Huddle. It would be nice if he turns out to be a STUD!
bulldog
Let Rice shoot his mouth off. The Redskins scheme allows for max pro and I doubt Rice will see much of Brunell unless its on the scramble. Also the fear of a credible ground threat will keep the Bucs honest, something the Redskins have not enjoyed since 2000-2001 with Davis at full tilt. Die Hard
The Skins played as good as a team could play... the Falcons played as badly as a team could play. 2 missed ATLA field goals from 40 & 46 yards would've changed the score some. But both opportunities unfolded with backups in. However, Skins receivers really let Ramsey down. He had 4 passes that were in receiver's hands that would been HUGE gain and kept drives going (they were on 3rd down). That cause the offense to stall a few drives. Potato Sack
Yeh. I'm with Die Hard on Ramsey. Those receivers pissed me off. Ramsey looked good in the pocket but his receivers had brain farts. On one pass, if Scott wouldn't have dropped the ball, he would've picked up a HUGE gain. Poor Ramsey. He's very frustrated. They showed a replay of him putting his hand up in Sultan's face as they were going to the huddle as if to say "talk to the hand". It was quite humorous actually. Larry
Next question: Did we give away too much? Sounds like, at least on D, we opened up the playbook more. (Although, I hope we're not planning on blitzing both corners in the regular season.)
HighPlainsDrifter
The receivers dropping passes from Ramsey definately stick out in my mind too. The other thing that sticks out as an area that could be improved upon, was our kickoff coverage. Woody Dantzler almost made us look silly a couple of times. We did have our kicker lay that awesome hit but ...if the kicker hadnt takled him, that was going to be a score.
HighPlainsDrifter
other Highlights from the first quarter include... Lavar: two sacks one forced fumble (recovered for Skins TD) The opening drive: 78yards and TD (Brunell4-6 for 51 Yds) First quarter yards: Washington 121 Atlanta

PCS
This is good to know. Have to figure out who "we" need to cut or who sucks this week.
Zen-like Todd
Since Barrow is out, and we already cut K. Mitch, who came in as the 2nd string MLB? Was it Clifton Smith?

That's what happens when you play with second and third string guys.
