MSNBC: Worldwide terrorism-related deaths on the rise

I just find your viewpoint extremly odd

To paraphrase what you said

Saddam while a threat to the middle east and Europe was never a threat to us. So therefore it was not in our best national interest to go to war.

But then you post this

Uhhh...that's the whole point.

A true coalition that would allow us as a group to accomplish our disarmament mission in Iraq, while leaving flexibility for us to respond to other threats.

Why didn't W go back for the second vote? The "lay your cards on the table" vote?

So, UN approval suddenly makes the removal of Saddam a national interest.

I just want to be clear here.

Oh, and another thing

Why the hostility? I happen to agree with you about the Iraq war( it was a mistake)

VCU in Healthcare Management with an influence in IT

:ot: ;)

I'm not sure about that. On my block it is about 50/50 black/white. Couple of gay houses.

I am hoping the elected mayor will help to bring the city together, as most politicians worry more about their "wards" than the good of the city as a whole.

A nice OT paragraph to wind down this thread...

I think everyone's done yelling at me...Right?

You think that Pat Buchanan is a fan of Israel?

He just wrote a whole book about the influence of Israel and AIPAC on the neoconservative agenda.

Nice try...

Buchanan's a fringe wacko who's never succeeded in winning an elected office. I'll be sure to avoid voting for the Reform Party as long as he's on their ticket.

Nice try? What the heck does that mean?

JW, where in Richmond do you live, just curious.

I live in Jackson Ward. (See user name.) Man, you are slow. Just kidding.

It's south of Broad near VCU, Clay near Belvidere. An old area of Richmond that has made a nice comeback, mostly due to the expansion of VCU across Broad.

Hmm, Never heard of it, even when I went to VCU. Then again I never stayed on campus any longer than my classes required me too. Showed up 1 minute before class and didn't stay one minute after. :)

If you leave VCU, going north on Belvidere towards the interstate, Jackson Ward is on your right and Carver is on your left. It's just the names of the neighborhoods (like the Fan, Oregon Hill, etc.)

The UN charter says an attack on one member nation is an attack on all.

UN approval means that the countries that felt Saddam was a threat, those within reach of his missiles, thought it was the right thing to do. The WMD argument is moot because the sanction and inspections worked.

We should support our UN brethren.

If they say he is a threat, we should offer troops to neutralize the threat.

However, we shouldn't force our idea of security on countries that might be affected and that didn't think he was a threat, just a bad leader.

Saudi Arabia was a better target & is more of an enemy of ours than Iraq. That IS where most of the hijackers came from. I probably would've supported an attack on N. Korea too, because they have missiles that can hit the US. Iraq was never a threat to us and had no connection to Al Qaeda until we invaded.
