Anyone catch ESPN today?

They had their 'poll of the day' today and the question was do you think the Redskins will win 10 games this season? They then cut to Jaws and he was talking about it.

Unfortunately I was in a pizzeria for lunch when I saw this and couldn't hear a thing.

Just wondering if anyone caught it and could share Jaw's commentary. I respect his analysis and am curious as to what he said.

I don't know about that one, but I saw a cut that said, "why the denver broncos may be sorry they let Portis go" or something like that..and it showed portis laying out someone on a block in practice....then it went to commercial..and i had to go..maybe sportscenter..dunno..

Jaws said that even though Joe Gibbs would field a much more competitive and disciplined team he didn't think they would make 10 wins this year.

He felt that having to face Dallas and Philly twice would prove to be an obstacle to the Skins getting to 10 wins. His justification on this was because both of those teams were playoff teams last year.

I greatly respect Jaws opinions on football matters, however, I think that 10 wins for the Skins is highly possible unless we have a bunch of injuries to key people.

Jaws also said that he expects a Chiefs-Seahawks Super Bowl with the Chiefs winning it all.

Just to add to that, Irvin was on with him and said he did not think the Skins could get to 10 either. Of course, he did not really have a reason as I recall, just his opinion. Typical Irvin. ESPN is really scraping the bottom of the barrel by using him. Wish Sharpe was still there...

Irvin has been bashing the Cowboys all week, though. It's not anti-Redskin bias coming from him. I've actually, blasphemy or not, have enjoyed his commentary he's given us in the offseason... it's, well, reasonable.

Jaws reasoning is flawed but his overall analysis is on the money. We have a good chance of sweeping the Cowboys but we’ll be lucky to not get swept by the Eagles.

Irvin was just being Irvin, saying NO, the Skins wont win 10 games, mumble, mumble, snort..uh yeah.

You know, I don't think anyone hated that guy more than me. Being in Dallas we were exposed to him more than the average Redskin fan. Last year, he started appearing on a weekly radio show and, although I didn't hear it a lot, the few times I heard it he was really pretty interesting. He was brutally honest about all the things that went on in the past, like the White House (players after-practice hangout), drug use, groupies, etc. He'd answer everything they'd ask - stuff that I would have trouble admitting if it was me. It was really entertaining! He should write a book.

I was certainly surprised that ESPN brought him on, and I don't think he's very good, but he does his homework and he's trying. Sure I'd rather see John Riggins on there, but at least he's better than Rush Limbaugh, Suzy Kolber (or any woman  just kidding ladies) or a Dennis Miller type!

I usually can "respect" their analysis, but I have noticed some insane things this year in what they have been predicting. It seems to me they all think every team is gonna go 8-8 or 7-9 and no worse. They said the Bills would go 8-8. then some would say redskins 8-8 or 7-9 orsometimes 10-6. Our two teams are basically identical in talent and we have Gibbs!!!!! But the bills are coming out of the dumps right alongside us????? So if both of us are coming out whos gonna hit the dumps. Because they are all saying the lions and jags and saints will all improve drastically. So whos gonna suck??? They are all being too optimistic and safe in their opinions. It's hard to keep hearing the same sorry ass predictions... So I really am not listening to their predictions anymore and if I were you I wouldn't either.

I agree. I've kinda gotten to that point myself. They all seem to be "safe" with their predictions, afraid to go out on a limb & even suggest that someone is gonna suck. And I don't know how many of them have said that the Eagles are gonna be in the Super Bowl this year, so I will say that hearing Jaws' analysis that the Chiefs & Seahawks will be there is a nice change of pace, although, didn't he say that last year?

My opinion of who will suck this year? Oakland (my "safe" bet), Pittsburgh, Tennessee, 49ers. The weakest division will be the NFC North.

Mind you, there is no basis for these opinions, they are simply that, opinions. At least, no basis that I could explain with any kind of accuracy or statistics to prove my point.
