sweepea436
I guess I'll be the only Yankee fan to absorb all this critisism here. I have been nervous about thier pitching all year (for good reason obviously). And last night was........well I think it speaks for itself. I get .....about....7,000,000 e-mails a day from my Red Sox fan best friend, reminding me of our weaknesses. But as I like to remind him, it doesn't matter how dismal our season is.......we aren't the team that has to send them home in October, it can be anyone - because they are cursed
Cskin
Without the Yankees in the World Series, I expect the series to be worth watching. The Cards or the Braves from the NL, probably the Cards because they are a hitting machine, against whomever from the AL.
TD_washingtonredskins
Before I start, let me say that I'm an O's fan so this is pretty objective. I too think that the Yanks are in some trouble. However, all this hooting and hollaring as the Sox pull within 3.5 games makes it seem like the Yanks are just going to start winning again or the Sox will start losing. I think, on paper, with less than 4 games separating them, the Sox have a great shot to overtake NY. But the intangibles are what usually come into play late in the season with these two teams. And until the Sox have actually overtaken NY, I wouldn't be celebrating too much. Just my two cents.
pr11fan
JMO, but I feel like the Sox don't even have to overtake the Yanks, just hold off the Angels and other for the Wildcard. I feel like if the Sox can just get into the playoffs, they're capable of beating any team in the AL. Not sure about the Cards though. This coming from a braves fan. keith
How can you get rid of andy petitte. he is one of the most clutch pitcher in the playoffs history. Yankees will take it up the ass.

I'm just saying, when Team A has a tradition of close calls/failures and Team B has a tradition of always finding a way to win, I'd be hesitant if I were a fan of Team A to start talking $hit when my team was still 3.5 games out. That's all. It just seems as if the Yankees always find a way to win when they need to, and it irritates the crap out of me (just like I'm sure it does to you too). I could just see them hit their way to the WS this year instead of pitch well to get there. I'm on your side though Jbooma, I'd love to see the Sox there instead of the Yanks. Geez, not too long ago, the Yankees starters put together 4 straight 8 inning apperances. Now they are all sucking. Sounds like baseball over a 162 game season to me, especially when the aforementioned pitchers are suspect to begin with.
