Coach Williams
We haven't allowed a score on out first string defense yet..... With St. Louis' o-line in shambles do we continue this streak? discuss..... I'm gonna say they get 2 fg's......with their 1st stringers EDIT: our 1st guys have outscored them 17-6 so far..... red zone
I think we just "jinxed" 'em!
Chachie
I say the streak continues. The Rams looked pretty stoppable last game. I also think we'll get a first-half interception tonight on Martz' pass-happy offense. (edit)- BUT... if anyone can expose a rookie in the secondary, it'll be Torry Holt. Watch out, Sean! Play smart tonight!
cphil006
NO JINX... Let's see what happens...Our defense is something that I can;t remember it being in years...AGGRESIVE...
China
Well, honestly I hope the first string D gives up a TD either this game or the next just so they don't get too full of themselves and overconfident playing against vanilla offenses. Preferably they get scored on next game so the coaches have something to get on them about prior to the regular season opener.
Posse81
No TD tonight for St. Louis. Not with the pressure we'll bring. I will also predict that the first team D won't give up a TD all pre-season. A few FGs vs. Atlanta and even one tonight, but no TDs.

With the Rams banged up O-line and the aggressiveness of our defense so far, I expect our strating D to dominate. I look forward to seeing Holt give Taylor a test. That will be fun to watch. Taylor can establish himself BIG tonight if he can put a crushing hit on Holt or Bruce, two pro-bowl WRs. That will send a message throughout the NFL that this guy is for real. sydshobob
Jeez, you definitely don't want to read too much into this "first string defense hasn't allowed a touchdown" thing. Right now, it's fun to think about and create a contest for it, but once the season begins it could be nothing more than the defense's version of Osaka. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they can keep it up once the real bullets start flying! And I predict they continue the streak tonite! I agree and think the D will keep the streak going.
afparent
Now if this were a regular season game, I would pick the Skins to win big. STL has too many holes right now, especially in the offensive line and Bugler is hobbling. I would go as far to say our defense would smother them and this would be a blowout. Being exhbition, even us skins fans don't know what Gibbs is going to bring to the table...what he wants to work on, etc.
Jethrodsp
Bulger, Holt and Co will be able to move the football more than the teams weve played so far. Itll be good to see how our new secondary can hold up against a passing game that boasts talent at all the right positions and has been extremely productive the last 3 or 4 seasons. We should get to see both Shawn Springs and Fred Smoot against Torry Holt, a top 3 WR in the NFL. Also Sean Taylors instinct against the deep ball will be tested tonight. I think Williams might get his wish and see Taylor "get his doors blown off." Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce are certainly capable and two of the best route runners in the NFL. The starting D will surrender at least one TD tonight, but will also put pressure on Bulger if Coach Williams lets the blitzes loose. Without Pace or Turley, our DEs could collapse the pocket from the outside for once too. First half score (when both teams will have majority starters in game)- Redskins 13 Rams
