mdl70
(sorry for another thread on seats. I thought this post deserved a thread of it's own so it didn't get lost in the discussions) I just got off the phone with my dad. He had just left FedEx field after meeting with a ticket manager from the Redskins who was showing him available seats. (Where'd those come from?) The ticket manager showed him three sections in the new 200 level seats. My dad chose two new seats with pretty much the view we were promised. We are now in section 229, row 18, and have two seats on the aisle. This is one section to the left and two rows down. By no means are they perfect seats, but they are a hell of a lot better than what we had this morning. We now have a clear view of the entire field, but we will lose from the near goalpost to the corner of the endzone. At this point both he and I are willing to take these as they are (more or less) closer to what was promised and this is all we wanted to begin with. Granted it was supposed to be the corner of the far endzone, but this is better than nothing. The ticket manager told my dad he was responding to his letter dated from two weeks ago. He never once mentioned the Post article this morning. Who knows if that is the case. It's just a *tad* odd that they picked today of all days to contact him. Ancalagon the Black
Congratulations! I'm glad that, despite their protests, the Redskins realized that they were doing wrong by you and rectified the situation.
70Chip
Congrats -- now let's see 1) if they help anybody else out, and 2) if they take out the seats you were in in the first place. (Did they say anything to your Dad about that?) Maybe the people in your new seats asked for a refund . . . .

My dad did mention there was a lady pushing a stroller around the stadium who was looking at new seats as well. I'm not sure how these seats became available. I think all he told my dad was they became available this week (whatever that means).
rich59
I talked with Jason and Tom in the past week for this story. Despite what the Redskins said earlier I was told they held some seats back in case they had problems. Problems??? This is how the seats became available today. I do not think they will hold the seats we moved from. I think they will sell them. Its not right. Alert - Avoid section 228, row 20, seats 27-28. The unfortunate part is its probably these seats or get passed on the waiting list. I have heard from many people that I should not have moved. I made a basic mistake, I believed they were telling the truth. No option was available to see the seats. I do not believe that hundreds viewed the seats before selecting. At no point did they say refunds were an option prior to the article this AM. The only options available on Monday morning were 1)Dream seats (1st 3 rows of the field for $350 seat/game. this includes access to club level and comp food and beverage (dogs, burgers and soda stuff) and 2)Loge seats $370 with no food compd but avail for purchase from Ridgewells. Both locations are corner and end zone. Access to club restaurants, etc. No club seats were available. They must be sold out. Jason will be on the outs with the team spokesmen after this article but he knows and realizes it. He says he is writing for the fans. You would think George Michael or Sonny would ask Joe Gibbs what he thinks. Joe is an honest, upfront guy. Maybe he can work on Dan or Karl Swanson to do the right thing. I do believe it is between Snyder and Swanson to solve this problem or tell the ticket staff to make it right for everyone. I'm not sure being in the stadium looking at a TV or a concrete pillar is worth it. I specifically asked for a refund based on misrepresentation and lies and was told there were no refunds. The Redskins would not even tell me who I spoke with in May. I would have consented to a refund for this year with an option for moving around in 05. The seats were just horrible. It would not be enjoyable to watch and the frustration would be high. But they did make an effort for amends and I hope it works out for others. panthro
Wow! That is a horrible section. Who the heck would want to sit under there? You're not even part of the crowd!

Sarge
I'm glad it worked out for you all. Now I have to wonder if these "upgrades" are going to be offered to everyone in the upper deck from now in order to get to better seats. It wouldn't surprise me. Bang
I think that's fantastic. I saw a piece about this on channel 4 last night, and thought of you. Congratulations on this, and I hope you enjoy the games! (And Kudos to the Redskins for stepping up.) ~Bang

Griff
If Jason is no longer watching games from the pressbox area, then you should take him to a game or two, for his help in this matter. Congrats, on your seats, for Jason's help & for the Redskins making this right.
Rocky21
Hey confrats on the upgrade. Like you said it's funny how a satisfactory solution became available right after the article in the Post came out.
thito_da_skins_fan
Good to see both sides worked it out. Now to reiterate a previous post, enjoy the seats and BE AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!
SkinsNut73
Congrats mdl on your new seats. You are right...they look more like what was promised in the original letter. A little obstruction but not bad. Thanks for keeping us updated. Enjoy the games. ...I imagine at noon today a housewife goes out to get the mail, opens a letter that came from the Redskins...and calls Hubby at work to say the Skins want to know if you want to move from section 412, row 97 down to some newly added slightly obstructed seats? Hubby calls Skins and says hell yes and adds the extra fee to his credit card. ...Hubby will be posting on here next week I bet...
