Oldskool
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67062 Team Report Posted: 2 hours ago Laveranues Coles is the team's only wide receiver who is certain to make an impact. Rod Gardner has inconsistent hands and struggles to get off the line. Darnerien McCants has a big upside but is often injured. James Thrash is solid but isn't a difference-maker. Taylor Jacobs was on the verge of breaking out before an abdominal injury set him back. The lack of threats at receiver could limit the passing game. H-back Brian Kozlowski is smart and reliable and a consistent blocker and receiver. He gives maximum effort on every play and rarely makes mistakes. RB Rock Cartwright was a long shot to make the team entering camp but has positioned himself to earn a roster spot with a strong showing. He is small (5-7, 223), but coach Joe Gibbs looks at production, not size. FS Andre Lott has impressed the team with his intelligence and ability, earning a promotion to the starting lineup. Though rookie Sean Taylor eventually will take his starting spot, Lott has proved he can be a strong backup. He's not physically overwhelming, but he takes care of his assignments and gets to where he needs to be. ROOKIE REPORT: Third-round pick Chris Cooley spent the first weeks of camp getting comfortable in the offense. Now, he is able to carry out his assignments without much thought or hesitation. He has excellent speed for an H-back and shows the potential to be a big-play receiver. He should start at some point during the season.
MikeB
Lame. You stack our receivers up against other solid teams like the Eagles, and we have just as many threats. Why they pick on us here I am not certain...
FunBunny
They don't think too much of our WRs. I'm not sure I do either. I'm a little worried about depth because I'm not sure LC is going to make it a full season on that toe. Even if he does, his effectiveness may diminish over the season. The kid has been sensational in preaseason and deserves to start.
Saint Joe
Are you kidding me? The Redskins' depth at the wide receiver position may be second to none.
spanishomelette
What I like about the articles you read from different organizations is they seem to all come to different speculative conclusions. There are more questions than answers for observers. Noone is getting a bead on what the Redskins are planning.

Opiate-Zeo
I was thinking the same thing Jimster...not sure what McCants they are talking about, but I don't remember the last time our McCants was injured. They just needed something to say about him since they couldn't think of anything...the unknowledgable fan wouldn't know if he was oft-injured or not. MeNoRevs
I dont get how you guys cry about how other people write about us if they are not glorifying us. What they say about our WR is true. Coles is our only threat right now. Gardner has been incosistent over the years, his hands are questionable. Even this preaseason he has not done much. The McCants thing is bogus, but Thrash was part of "debatable" worst WR group in the NFL last year. Man some of you guys need a check in reality in stop being such homers. SkinsNYC
Like Art Monk was fast off the line. Not drawing parallels, however, media is not smart. Don't get riled up. Long Live Mass Media and philly phanz. Bail is set at $500.

KingGibbs
I happen to agree about our WR corps. I just don't think we are going to scare anyone. Everyone knows Coles is hurting and they are going to do their best to finish him off. If that were to happen, that leaves us with a tandem comparable to the Eagles last year. That's not saying much, is it?

kappaluvacee
The longer we glide under the leaugue's radar, the better we'll be in December for the playoff run.
Thinking Skins
Yeah, I didnt know McCants was injured either. Must have done a good job hiding that injury and not missing any games.
PCS
WEll, let's hope some teams the Skins are playing this season agree with this evaluation of the Skins talent, ( yeah right). It's a thought anyway.

RedskinsNation
My 8 yr old cousin could have written that article. That is garbage! And by the way...When the F*** was Taylor Jacobs about to break out? He's always been horrid. This guy is the worst.

From Bubba's other thread about rumors Jacobs is rumored to be doing excellent in camp, especially with his route running. Besides he had a catch of 21 yards in the last game. And before you say well its only one catch, we only had 10 completions all game, so there weren't exactly alot of opportunities.

Shotgunner
I think WR is our best depth position. And Gardner should come on this year. With Thrash and Jacobs in our 4wr offense that will be tough to stop.:point2sky
