fuji869
I find it humorous that talking to Bronco Fans from my trip back to Denver a couple of months ago. As you know Bronco RBs Terrell Davis, Orlandis Gary, Gary Anderson and Clinton Portis have done well in that system. When it comes to Terrell Davis he was a great RB and disserves to be in the Hall of Fame despite a short NFL Career but when it comes to Clinton Portis, he will do lousy in D.C. because he was just a product of the system. :whoknows: I know most of them don’t like Portis now because of the trade but I think it was humorous to listen to. Of course these were fans that thought Bubby Brister would lead them to a 3-peat after John Elway Retired in 1999. :loser:
NASMTrainer
Dude, they are just upset he's gone. We would be the same way. My wife is Bronco fan and of course it was all my fault that the trade happened. I came home the other day and her McFarland figure of Portis was on my desk. She told me she didn't ant to look at it anymore. LOL
bulldog
The Broncos have not won a playoff game since Elway retired. Unlike other coaches who have reached the pinnacle, Shanahan doesn't seem able to rebuild Denver in the aftermath. The team has stumbled repeatedly with free agents (a ton of them on defense who almost all failed to achieve) and then the decision to give Jake Plummer millions and millions despite and up and down career. Maybe I am the lone voice out there in the wilderness, but I don't see an offense of Plummer, Quentin Martin, Rod Smith (at 32), Ashley Leelie, etc.. as being one that is going to scare the NFL in 2004
Taylor Made
I've been really impressed with Quentin Griffin this preseason, Most impressive RB in the league so far. Their Offense will still be pretty bad losing Sharpe and Portis. The Broncos D has to carry them, its pretty nice on paper actually.
RW31
He is their champ bailey, to put it in terms you can understand. They both disrespected their teams, and now many fans will try to diss them at any moment...

Thats why I said right? I wasn't sure, and I wasn't about to research it for a topic I don't care about. And if we are going to discuss playoff history, how many playoff seasons have the skins had in the past 12 seasons?
PiLfan
it's been a long ass time for both, really. neither have much room to talk trash to the other...but fans of both teams will be quite interested i'm sure to see who ends up coming out on top of the Bailey/Portis trade. bragging rights will ensue... We aren't discuss playoff history, we're discuss you coming onto a redskins message board mocking us on when the last time we had a playoff win. Especially if you don't know and we won more recent then you. Playoff history? Last time you were in the playoffs you lost to the cardinals. You should go back and look at what some Skins fans here have said about Bailey and Skin fans...it's all stupid ****. Yet most realistic Bronco fans still love Portis, as with Bailey. Portis threatened to hold out on the team for thinking about himself, shouldn't that make them not like him much? Like I said though, most do still love him. I don't think fans can blame Portis for wanting more money. His situation is not exactly like Ty Law where he's making millions and wants millions more. Portis was making next to nothing last year, and god forbid if he went out and destroyed his knee this year under the same contract as last year, he'd be worth next to nothing. I'm not saying they could blame him for that, but he would of been paid eventully. The thing is he threatened to hold out of camp, which is pretty messed up. I don't have a grudge against him, I can just see where their coming from.

They looked like a team that deserved to be there. Well I did see where Champ has been playing some Wide Reciever for you in practice...I guess the Broncos didn't watch any of the Skins game film from last year!
Bang
Well, even though this has nothing to do with the argument, it's as good a place as any. I definitely think Terrell Davis should go into the Hall of Fame. In his short time he did more than 95% of the RBs who have ever played this game. ~Bang

Oh, and BTW, we were in the playoffs this year. Ya, I was in a rush. You could've easil missed it, tho. I swear, you beat the cards and lions, get blown out by every good team you played, except the panthers and eagles who both came back and blew you out. It's a lucky break, that's what that season was. That's a cool fun fact, tho, losing in the playoffs to the cardinals. Even if it was '98.
bulldog
look, the point of my post that seems to have started the feeding frenzy was just a statement indicating that unlike Gibbs and Parcells, who won Super Bowls with different quarterbacks and different players at certain key spots, Shanahan has not been able to duplicate his success after Elway That's it. It doesn't mean the Skins coaches during the past 8-10 years were great or achieved a lot nor does it mean Shanahan is a poor coach. I just don't put him in that rank of coaches at the highest level in league history.
Guest Westbrook36
This isn't smack talk but it's just the nature of sports fans. Sorta how everyone around here bashes Champ now that he's gone. Shoot, I found myself telling myself that Buckhalter sucked anyway this morning to console myself. We all lie to ourselves to some extent.
Mister Happy
Well. The Cowboys starters got beat by the Texans starters 13-0. Only preseason? or sign of things to come? You decide.

I know what you are saying, I just find it amusing that they think Davis should be a HoFer and Ports is just a product of the syetem; the same system the other Terrell Davis was running in thats all. I repsect Bailey and think he is one of the NFL's Premier CBs. He just did not want to stay in Washington. :violin:
