Sarge
I like the "newsticker" deal, but absolutely not on the white background. The dark background is kind of a saignature of the iste if you ask me. If you get really crazy for the season, maybe a running scoreboard of other NFC East games going on??

We are NOT going to change to a white background. So rest your mind at ease. It's been brought up a few times... and all I can do is laugh about it. However, the NFC East schedule thingy is a good one to incorporate into the "ExtremeSkins Spy Feature". I don't think EVERYTHING needs to be accessible from the forums. NoCalMike
I have a question: Since there will be a Redskins headlines forum all to itself, is that meant to stop people from posting headlines in here? I mean usually you post headlines in the forum that gets the most action, which is this forum, so I am wondering, will the bulk of people just outright ignore the fact that there is an actual headlines forum in favor of posting headlines in the forum where up to 200+ people are browsing throughout the day? SonnyRules
Die Hard, Found it. After seeing the site in white, all I can say is :puke: . Please keep the black, it's really classy and sets this site apart. I rarely ever enter the site through the homepage (that's probably explains why I don't know the site as well as I should:dunce:). I have Fedex Field bookmarked. That's why I really like the idea of having Bubba's news ticker. There are two other links that I think would be helpful in the task bar. 1. A "Donation" link. I know there are times when reading these boards I get so appreciative that I wish I could just click a link and donate through a service like PayPal. 2. A "Extremeskins" online store. I've been reluctant to purchase any of the packages, but would certainly buy some individual items. Again, using some service like Paypal. That's my :2cents: Thanks again. bobzmuda
The only thing that would have me throwing a temper tantrum is if I couldn't find news articles in FedEx either as messages or in the new Bubba's Redskin News ticker. Discussion invariably centers on a lot of these news discussions, and it just doesn't make sense to have the news stories not directly accessible from FedEx. ExtremeSkins History section. 2. Redskin Fan Photo section. 3. Buy-Sell-Trade Ticket section. 4. TV Game Schedule 5. Radio Station listing that carry Redskin games 6. Redskin Video section 7. Wallpaper section 8. Email hosting capability

I usually post in both News & Fed-Ex if it is related to the Redskins, or of interest to Redskin fans. Other NFL news, and simular news from different sources... etc. news only I agree hot Skins News jump starts many great discussions. I think we wouldn't want to stop that, but more if people "see" the News Ticker headlines, then it may limit many double triple posting of the same article in fed-ex because people don't take time to scan the first couple pages first. I Like the news ticker idea , but for the reason stated not an ego thing... well not only an ego thing. I also like that the News Forum has been promoted to the top along with fed-ex & tailgate. redskns21
I really like the news ticker as well. They layout of it works as well as I see it being something that might stop the duplicate posts. Looks good!
riggins44
Whatever you and the other mods decide is fine with me! You do such a great job for such little pay ( ) that I'm here to stay. Bang
lol,, coors light, huh! Well, one step at a time BTW, I love the black background and overall color scheme of the site. it's striking and very different from most mb's. If a design gets in the way of the site it's a problem, but this doesn't, and the text is easily read. I say keep it dark. ~Bang

JoeGibbsIsBack
I've seen it on other forums and maybe it doesn't come with your software but I like on some how when you put the mouse over a thread it gives you the context of the first post without having to actually open it up. Just a suggestion.
skinsfanbu
I like the idea of having the NEWS easily viewable from a forum. I often go right into the forums and don't scan the home page first for news.

Just a suggestion. That's a hack (ie. functional code). I've heard about it. And it's certainly one I can explore and contemplate adding. However, the content of your post is unrelated to the purpose of this thread. It would be better served posted in our newly re-activated "Feedback and Tech Support" forum. The purpose of this thread was to solicit feedback and suggestions about the new potential "layout". GSF
DH, I like the changes. As always, good job. I thought the same thing as Bobzmuda though when I logged on today. For me, most of the best conversations are usually in response to the posted articles. Will all of the articles be posted in Fedex as well as Bubba's box? Are we allowed to discuss the articles in the headlines section? I noticed there were zero replies.

This has presented a logistical dilemma of which I don't have an answer at the moment... but right now it's a HUGE obstacle and I'm thinking about it all the time trying to come to a resolution that works. jenmdixon
I'm wondering if there is a way to hack it to have a 'reference' link in threads. What I mean is that this functionality allows the user to 'link' the thread to another thread when the thread is created. Once created, the new thread has a layer (which can be minimized) or a prominent link to pop up a window which displays the referenced thread. The readers of the thread can comment in the new thread as they like - the layer/popup will be read-only to avoid confusion. I think I might be explaining this badly. jbooma
DH you could do this, have the table with the users be collapsible and add a table of bubba's news be on the top. This table will then be a set height and you can scroll down so then you can still have the main forum. You will still have news and discussion in the same forum. A new donation page will hopefully be available in a week. It's already been drafted and it's in its final stages. We're just awaiting Blade's return so he can rubber stamp it 2. An "ExtremeSkins" store is very possible. We'll probably look into that. But for the record... the reason why Blade put together "packages" is to benefit both ExtremeSkins (ie. donation part) and the members. For instance, the shipping is the same for 1 tshirt or 2. If we're going to give away tshirts AND "make a bit on the side as part of a donation" AND include shipping expenses... it's going to work out to something around $20. So it's just ideal to offer 2 tshirts for $30; almost getting the 2nd tshirt at cost. But we can certainly explore the store suggestion.

Just a suggestion. This is the hack you were talking about right? A hack that allows you to put your mouse over a particular thread and "preview" it? What do others think about it? Would you like something like this? It essentially allows you to view the first 300 (settings are configurable) characters of a post.
AJWatson3
looks sharp DH! i like having the Skins (bubba) news ticker at the top too.. make sure you get that bang banner... have a pic of one of his justice league characters.... like the idea of a donations link too... lots of people still mooching off the goodwill of others!! and the above mentioned hack is pretty cool.. probably wouldn't be as necessary if people were more descriptive in their thread titles, but cool all the same.
