Bazooka Tooth
What are your thoughts on Russell. Do you guys think he will ever pan out to be the burner that we drafted? Is he going to remain on the roster, or is he even there now?

Bazooka Tooth
You think he will get weeded out and cut this year? What a waste of a 3rd rounder he ended up being.
RySkins
As of now he is behind Coles, Gardner, McCants, and Jacobs. Unless Russell learns to play ST (or already does), then I think he is gone.
SRBFan
Add Patrick Johnson to that list. Russell is no better than 6th on the depth chart...don't see that changing.
Jimbo
The competition should definitely help matters.

Posse81
I have a feeling his days are numbered. We don't seem to be making any effort to re-sign Johnson so that may help, but there are already 4 WRs ahead of him. Russell was drafted to play in Spurrier's system, not Gibbs. Too bad, another draft pick wasted.
EvoSkins
If Russell never got injured, he would be contending for a starting position. He has never brushed off the rust from the injury and will get cut if Patrick Johnson is resigned.
Leonard Washington
i never was a p. johnson fan but he has shown more heart and on the field value than cliff russell
thinker
We also have to recognize that Gibbs will not carry as many wr's as SS - he'll switch one of those slots to a 3rd te.

He has had enough time to recover from the injury. Training Camp should answer all of those questions and looks to be his last opportunity to make it in the league and DEF his last chance to make it as a Redskin. We have plenty of talent and depth at the WR position.
unsonny
he'll get picked by another team and be a star somewhere else, no room for him here!!
citigent
dont see him here again, johnson would make it over him if he doesn't sign anywhere else. i think under gibbs that cloman? will makee it further though the cuts then russell and maybe make the team. redman
He's gone. It's a numbers game: 0 catches 0 games played 0 contributions 2 big injuries
NavyDave
I'd resign D Mac and waive goodbye to Russell. Right now we have Coles, Gardner in his contract year, Jacobs and Russell with local kid D Mac hoping he isnt forgotten during the FA frenzy. DraftNik
Russell was probably never going to compete for a starting job anyway. He never finished a whole season in his football career including college and high school. He was drafted as a project and he didn't pan out. Oh, well, there are better players in front of him. I really liked this kid and he had a lot of potential coming out of college. Hopefully he moves on and gets a chance with some other team. I would really like to seem him make an impact.
