Yomar
Did a search, didn't see it posted. THE HUDDLE REPORT Combine Notes Tight Ends Kellen Winslow Jr. Miami Kellen has succeeded in labeling himself as a high maintenance type of player. I guess his hero is T. Owens. It is a bit of a shame, but it is not something that is going to affect where he is picked in the draft. He will work out at his college day and I’m sure he will wow the scouts and talk to the teams that HE is interested in. I think he is trying to influence certain teams not to pick him. Don’t get me wrong, he wants to stay in the top ten for money reasons, but if he has had discussions with the Redskins, it might be the reason for the outbursts. You know how those Redskins are – they’ll do anything to secure a pick. That’s just me thinking out loud. Wow…what a decision. S.Taylor or K Winslow. I guess we will see who runs the draft – owner or new coach. THE HUDDLE REPORT Combine Notes Defensive tackles Ahmad Childress- Alabama Ahmad has hurt himself with his immaturity. He came to a job interview, overweight and lacking the urgency needed to impress the scouts with his talents. I am of the opinion that the sighting of Sasquatch was false and the picture I have must have been doctored. He will drop to the second day of the draft. He has the talent. The best thing for his lazy ass would be to not draft him at all. Maybe that would embarrass him and motivate him. We all know that this will not happen. He has too much POTENTIAL. Donnell Washington- Clemson Donnell did well at the combine. He ran well and came in pretty good shape, although not as good as he should have. His game film shows a player that should dominate on every play, but just doesn’t. He did well enough to make the first day, I think, but not the 1st Rd as his talent would lead you to believe. Isaac Sopoaga- Hawaii Isaac has really upped his stock because of his natural strength and athletic abilities. He came in at 6’2” 317lbs and ran a 4.94 forty and a 5.03 forty. He might be someone’s surprise pick in the first round. The Colts have got to be thinking of him and Kansas City should be desperate for his talents. He just might have moved himself ahead of Marcus Tubbs. At least in my book, he has. Darnell Dockett- Florida St. Darnell smells the NFL and for the time being, has re-dedicated himself to doing and being the best player he can be. He came into his job interview in great shape, did all the workouts and showed great athleticism. He has good size and strength and had good reasons for his past immaturity issues. I think he will be a fine football player and maybe, he has turned himself around to be a future role model. I feel he has pushed himself into the first round. Matthias Askew- Michigan St. Someone please tell these kids with this type of talent that this is a job interview and that if they are not outstanding in their play on the field, that it would be prudent for them to come to the combine and knock the scouts’ toupees off their little bald heads. Another player that has POTENTIAL, but did not come prepared to do his best. Might make the third round! Igor Olshansky- Oregon Just as I told you in my profile, he can lift; however, when he does the skill drills, he is as stiff as a board. He will have a difficult time in the NFL, but he will give the effort and you know how I feel about guys who give all that they have to give (make them Marines). Just kidding…he is worth a shot in the second day of the draft. Tommie Harris- Oklahoma As I’ve told you, he is VERY athletic. Did all the drills with ease and was very fluid. He lifted the bar at 225 lbs- 29 times. Remember -- he is still a junior. The scouts were trying to put a spin on him in hopes that he drops by saying that he doesn’t have much production to back up his athleticism. That’s not going to happen, boys. The system dictated that and his coach stood up for him. That’s the way it should be. Marcus Tubbs- Texas Marcus did not hurt himself or help himself. As I’ve said, what you see is what you get. He is a kid who knows how to play his position. He came in at 6’4” 321. Some of the scouts tried to talk about body fat being too high on this kid. What the h*ll do they expect? Look at the film -- body fat or not, you got a real good player who doesn’t take downs off. A Ted Washington Mini-Me! Corey Williams- Arkansas St. I have not profiled this kid yet, but just so that you are aware of him, he did well in his drills and his attitude is very good. He is a developmental player that has the POTENTIAL to be picked on the first day of the draft. Tim Anderson- Ohio St Tim was his usual efficient self when going through some of the drills and will run at his college day. He should be a late 2nd to 3rd rounder. A quality kid. Mondre Dickerson- Tennessee Mondre got the attention of the scouts and he should have. He had impressive numbers and I will go back to the films to see what I might have missed before I write his profile. From his workout, he looked to be a solid 4th rounder. I know when he puts his mind to it, he can be an excellent run stuffer. Vince Wilfork- Miami Vince took this opportunity to set himself apart from the other DT’s. T. Harris, V. Wilfork, D. Dockett and then a fight to see if Tubbs or Sopoaga -- or both -- make the first round. Vince will work out at his College day also. The one thing you have to say about the Miami program is that they sure know how to get their players ready for a job interview.
