Mr. S
Who do you think was the most overrated player on the redskins team til now? Who do you think will be most overrated free agent that we aquire this year?
sjinhan
McCant cause a lot of people think he is ready for #2 job and i think he is still a year or two away... for FA this year it has to be Kearse... not saying he is gonna be bad but there is sooooo sooooo much hype... Trevor
McCants, Ohalete and Cartwright are overrated by Redskin fans. If we sign Wistrom he'll fall into the overrated category. Not much better if any than Wynn.
skinsbosoxheels
Most Overrated player on skins right now: none other than Mr. 9 million dollar per yr Chris Samuels...this guy is probably the most over paid player in the NFL...just think..we could of had Brian Urlacher instead we drafted this clown...I think Springs is probably the most overrated player we may acquire:cheers:
TLusby
Agree with SKINSBOSOXHEELS. CS is overrated and overpaid. Hopefully we will see a different CS this year under Joe.
swissarmy47
yeah definitely Chris Samuels - he had a real solid few years but last year he was down right mediocre if not even plain bad at times. definitely not worth the money he gets and all the talk from these analysts who are told to say samuels is good... other guys that are overrated: - betts - he maybe he'll be a nice contributer but hasn't really done anything yet and some of us talk about him like he's tony dorsett or something - bowen - was way overrated initially (esp. considering the guy was never really a starter - third string in Green Bay even). now we are starting to realize he can pop a guy but not too much else - trotter - although we are realizing this now too slowly but surely that he is a nice run stopping LB and possibly a noseguard but not a great all around LB - arrington - yeah i said it! i don't think he had a great year last year. the couple years before sure, you would watch games and him make game-changing plays. last year i didn't see much of that. nothing really spectacular. we need him to be spectacular. that said, i love all these guys, but def. getting too much hype. honestly bailey too (moot point now i suppose) - but he never really was stellar against the great receivers, only vs. the mediocre and "pretty good" guys... Riggo-toni
Our y2k draftees, hands down! Samuels and Arrington! Let's imagine we changed 2 plays in Arrington's career. Suppose he dropped the int against Carolina, and suppose Aikman already had a concussion the week before the infamous hit. What would we remember Arrington for? His pass rush skills under Marv, no doubt. But would we think it was such a good idea to give him a $15m signing bonus??????? After all the blown assignments last year?? And no way is Samuels worth the kind of ridiculous $$$ we're giving him. An exceptional run blocker, to be sure, but middle of the pack in pass protection. ibrahim
Lavar Arrington, he's fast, makes big hits every nbow and then, thats about it. gets turned around by Tight Ends, Full Backs, OLine men too often, over pursues, makes weak arm tackle attempts

Destino
The question was overrated not horribly coached. Saying that Arrington is over rated is a joke, the guy hasn't had a d-line that could keep blockers off him or a defensive coordinator that stuck around for more then a year. Samuals happens to have his worst year with running backs that refuse to block, no chip blocking of any kind, no hot reads to use against the blitz, and no running back worth blocking for. You want over rated? Rod Gardner is being compared to Monk on these forums. Now that is over rated.

Too many fans don't know football, and only complain about the players who are left out to dry by poor coaching. As a player, you're not going to be perfect and you have small tendencies that coaches usually get on you about in practice. Yet we've all heard how the players admitted Spurrier never taught anyone ANYTHING, except for the quarterbacks of course. He's coaching staff was horrendous, and all of our players shortcomings became very apparent. You'll see a different team with Gibbs and co., coaches who actually know how to COACH. AJWatson3
i would have to say samuels, even though he did have some injury problems last year which really hampered his play. one guy i would definitely not say is over-rated is ROCK!!!
