miragv Posted March 1, 2004 Share Posted March 1, 2004 right now we have portis, ramsey and 2 picks. but if we let portis and ramsey go we could end up with as many as 8 picks. i forget which thread it was but some source said he talked to Gibbs and what he got from the conversation is that Gibbs loves Dillon and that in the next couple weeks we could be loaded with picks. Now some local news people are reporting that portis will be traded to NE and ramsey could be dealt to SD. the reports are it woud be portis for 2 first rounders and a second. that would give us 3 first rounders and 2 second rounders, that equals 5. now lets say we trade ramsey to SD, i dont know if this would be the case, but i am assuming it would be for the number 1 pick, maybe we would throw in a pick but for now i will say that its just ramsey for the 1st pick. what would we do with the 1st pick? i would say the safe bet is to trade down. at this point in my crazy scenario we already have 3 first round picks, too much money to keep the 1st or get even more first rounders. so my guess is that we trade the first overall pick for a player we need to fill a hole and a lot of late rounders. who knows how many late rounders, could be anywhere from 1 to 3. at the end of all this we have anywhere from 6-8 picks, and with 6-8 holes in our lineup we could address all of them and add much needed depth to our team. i know this seems crazy, its all speculation. but what do you guys think? :cool: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

miragv Posted March 1, 2004 Author Share Posted March 1, 2004 obviously its speculation, i tried to make that clear. all i want to know is if the feel of the board it towards keeping portis and ramsey and signing players to fill our needs or if we feel that the skins should load up on picks to get a lot of young talent. Canadian Hog Posted March 1, 2004 Share Posted March 1, 2004 Not to knock Patrick or anything, because I think the world of him and think he is going to be outstanding, but what would make anybody believe that San Diego would be willing to part with the first pick in the draft for a QB who played on a broken foot all last season, has yet to step back on the field since being placed on IR, was drafted 32 overall, has started a total of 16 games in his career, and has alot of learning still to do before reaching an elite level? Commander Adama Posted March 1, 2004 Share Posted March 1, 2004 I could see Gibbs liking Dillon. I honestly wouldn't mind having Dillon on our roster, much more than Staley. Also to get 8 I see us trading San Diego's 1st round pick and our 1st round pick (separately) to get a slightly lower pick and a second round pick. That way we still could get Ben Roethlisberger(Sp?), Sean Taylor, Kenechi Udeze, and Steven Jackson. Also a couple of Cornerbacks and a DT in the second round, and Kearse in FA. WHOEVER HANDLES THE PUBLICITY FOR THE SKINS! - CAN YOU IMAGINE THE FIRESTORM OF DISGUST THIS WILL PROVOKE - If the Skins really wanted to make a trade for the 2 1st rounders by giving away portis to NE, they should never have allowed REDSKINS NATION to salivate over the thought of having portis for nearly 1 whole week -- they should have just made an announcement all at once, without leading us skins fans on! Which meant they probably got them off this site or something. I mean come on. Give me a source and i'll start believing. Portis will be a Redskin. And Channel 9 is a joke.
