scskin
Thought I would jump in on the subject. Trading down to 10 would probably get us Udeze and a 2nd that could be used for the best DT availiable. Then there is the rumored N.E. trade of #5 for #21 and #32(with a 3rd thrown in). We could use that to get either Wilfork, Will Smith, Starks, Lavalais, or Igor. We could also use the #21 to get the best CB availiable. Defense is needed and we will get some through FA's but we need a few young guys to build a line with. This is why I am in favor of trading down. One player at #5( even if it is Taylor or Winslow) isn't going to get it done. What sayeth the board?:2cents:
AzSkinsFan63
If the SKins can't land Taylor then I'm all for it moving back.. But Gibbs needs Alvin Walton...Taylor will be better!
The X-Factor
If Taylor is there at #5, then we should take him, he is going to be an impact player. However, I also wouldn't mind if we trade down to #10 and pick up and extra second rounder. This would enable us to draft Udeze and a DT in the second round. Trading down to #21 is a bit too far, even though we get two first rounders. Players are a lot more likely to be busts in that stage of the draft. SKINZ_DOMIN8
Never waste a top five pick on a safety. Might as well take a kicker.
RedskinGodfather
Why would you say never waste a top 5 on a Safety??? Have you ever heard of Roy Williams and watched the impact he has during games? Taylor would make our defense very intimidating with Lavar looking to end someone elses careers? Think about it:eaglesuck :dallasuck :gaintsuck

terpfan
im all for taking taylor at 5 and if hes not there trade down and get udeze/will smith and someone like randy starks. both scenarios would be great.
Jimbo
If I'm trading down from #5 for the Pats' two first rounders, they would also have to include, at least, the #57 pick in the 2nd round a well.

I would agree in every other draft but this one......he's the best prospect out of college @ FS ever!.....If he becomes the best ever we will all be happy we picked him.....This isn't wuerffle this is TAYLOR!:hammer:
Ghost of
Lott was moved over from cornerback. The two Pro Bowl S for the NFC were both in their first year at FS after being moved from CB(Chavous and Williams) S ain't that important or difficult. As for Roy Williams. Well, I won't say he has no impact, but I think his abilities are thoroughly overrated. He can't cover well at all. You can hit all you want, and he's a great blitzer but neither Philly nor Dallas were improved statistically or win-wise by the arrival of Williams or Dawkins. It was improved coaching and offense(and D-line) that got them back into contention.

No, TE is definitley a waste, but the importance of the safety is pivotal in the backfield. Just take a look at what Ed Reed has done in Baltimore and Roy Williams in Dallas. Taylor isn't just a big hitter either, he's EXCELLENT in coverage. I think he had something like 16 picks.
