skinsarethebest
I noticed that everyone seems to have tempered down their expectations as to what we can get for bailey anyone think we can still get detroit's #6 plus shaun rogers? - i think that would be the best scenarios - heck, i'd even throw in a mid-late draft of ours in the 2005 draft if that would convince millen to go for this deal if by chance this trade does happen, i think we might even have a shot at answering all our needs in the first two rounds - just think of it #5 - we use this on sean taylor #6 - we go for kevin jones - since we know that next to a solid QB, a dynamite RB is on gibb's must-have list in Round 2, we go for whatever highly rated DE is still available - i know everyone is enamored with udeze (who almost definitely would be gone), but i think the draft is full of other strong candidates to help out the sucky skins DLine - who knows - maybe antwan odom might even be here - if not, how's about Darnell Dockett and, of course, by having snagged rogers, we've already gotten ourselves a pro-bowl caliber DT
Jimbo
I think that trade is totally out of the question at this point. Heck, Millen seems iffy about giving up the #6 and our FO might be asking for more than that. I would do the trade for the #6 pick alone.
bnacpa
I like the pick + Rogers. If Detroit wants Bailey, they have to surrender 2 #1 picks according to league rules, unless the Redskins settle for less. Gibbs talks of proper value and it is widely discussed that the Redskins want a #1, #2, + a player. I think we would gladly give up the #2 + player for Rogers. Bailey for just a single number 1 is not good value. Bailey was a top 10 pick initially when he was unproven. Obviously a player who is considered the best in the game is worth more than just 1 pick outside of a top 5.
chiefhogskin48
I'd be happy with just the #6. Guys, Champ's a free agent. It's not like we're trading a guy under contract. Also, I hear people saying that we should get two #1s, but the sixth pick has the same value as two #1s. Hell, the Patriots might make that trade. No, he's signed for one year at $6.8 million
chiefhogskin48
Originally posted by panel No, he's signed for one year at $6.8 million Neither Champ nor his agent have signed anything. He's been tagged. But that doesn't mean he's under contract. I doubt he'd pull a Galloway and sit out, but anything's possible.
3CardMonte
We may have to Take Shaun Rogers and their 2nd round pick this year and their #1 next year 3Card
skinsarethebest
I agree that the lions are probably a little hesitant to give up both their high #1 pick and a top player like rogers, although i also agree with everyone who's quick to remind that the going rate for a franchised player IS 2 first round picks so... maybe here's where we ought to think about sweetening the pot... why don't we thrown in gardner and samuels ... heh heh heh... talk about killing two birds with one stone - get a great pick and a great player, while getting rid of two players who frankly have not produced so, here's my revised offer to the lions lions get - bailey, gardner, and samuels, and our fifth round pick we get - #6, #30-something (the second rounder), and DT Shaun Rogers sounds good to me
3CardMonte
That would be trading our 5th overall pick Gardner and Samuels for the Lions 36th pick No way in Hell.... Maybe Gardner along with Champ for the #6 and Rogers and their 3rd rounder 3Card
