jbooma
On a Jacksonville radio said he expects to be the starter. He also said he looks forward to helping Ramsey develop into a great QB.
@DCGoldPants
I hear that clip on 980. He basically said "Coach wants two guys who can get it done and its a shame that only one can be on the field at a time.....but that guy will be me." big words. Now I'm rooting for Ramsey to win that job even more!
TD_washingtonredskins
I'm not. I actually want Brunell to be our starter next year. Don't get me wrong, I'll pull for whoever is out there because a) they're both Skins and they both seem like great guys. However, I really think this will benefit PR and the team both short and long term!
Bazooka Tooth
I am in PR's corner as well. But it was a good decision to pick up a quality vet in case either one of them have an injury. There is nothing wrong with competition or insurance....
Hauss
Hopefully, Ramsey will feel he is the guy. Brunell said what I would hope he would say. Our qbs shouldn't be lacking in confidence.
skinsblitz
Brunell vs. Ramsey, at least we will have something to talk about this offseason. I mean, Redskins offseason is usually so quiet and not much happening.
National Defense
i saw a new bit on chan 7 that said ramseys agent said that ramsey wants to be traded if he is not named the starter.
Griff
Pat is our future. I love Ramsey, but St. Joe will do whats best for our Skins.

My wife called and told me local CBS channel 9 reported roughly the same thing from the Combine on their noon news show ... and added that that Brunell has already been named the starter. They attributed it all to the ubiquitous "sources." I was wondering when somebody would bring it up. Seems like the kind of thing our newshounds usually post within minutes. WM_Marylander
Well... what is he supposed to say?!?!? Hey, I'm going to Washington, and there's no chance I'll earn the starting job? I'm no good, it's a shock they even gave me this kinda money? He's gonna say he's gonna win the job, because that's confidence. He probably will earn it this summer, though Ramsey will be close behind and might take it mid-year or even by next.
kappaluvacee
Let the open competition begin. Ramsey shouldn't be worried if he is a better QB, if not, he should learn and develop behind the better QB.
dieselfan44
I think Pat has to see this for what it is. I've been pulling for him since day one, but he has to look at this as a great opportunity. If you think about it all he has had to mentor him is NFL flops. I like the Brunell move more and more everyday. I just hope that Patrick can settle down and realize what this is. Its an opportunity for him to learn from a Pro Bowl QB and a HOF coach. I think any young QB in the league would cherish that. He has to know that Gibbs wants him around as our future. Brunell has a few good years left hopefully great years. I hope Patrick can see the calm after the storm.
BD
I'm sorry, but I can't root for Brunell. Just can't. I'll have to just cheer for the Defense, like I did when Tony Banks and Jeff George were under center. BD

With that attitude I can guarantee one thing for sure.. Patrick won't start... He possibly could get traded but that still might not happen. Heck I think it probably won't happen. But he will sit the bench if he doesn't shut his yap! what a baby!!!
Larry Brown #43
Billy vs. Sonny... Billy/Sonny vs. Thiesmann... Williams vs. Schroeder... Rypien vs. Humphries... Gus vs. Heath... Brad vs. Jeff George... (I won't even mention Tony Banks vs. Kent Graham) Patrick vs. the Gators... Ladies and gentlemen...welcome to Mark vs. Patrick. Let the games begin! NYC
7 year $43 mill, 8 mill signing bonus.' I think it's safe to say that is not money you guy someone to hold a clip board for you.
big z
Joe has an obligation to the team to play the QB that gives our Skins the best chance to win. MAY THE BEST MAN WIN. I too am rooting for Ram, but an 8 million dollar bonus for a backup?! It would be equally dissappointing if Brunell underachieves. My guess is that it will come down to a tie or slightly in favor of Ram, but Gibbs will start Mark B. Ramsey wants to start?....Then LEAVE NO DOUBT. BE the MAN. Where would Ram rather play? He's gonna get paid one way or another...patience is a virtue...don't you want a ring man? Gibbs will get you one....or two.

The Diesel
I'm as big a Ramsey fan as anybody... but his agent is p***ing me off. If Pat doesn't shut that guy up, he's going to lose me ... quick. It was bad when he held out as a rookie but I got over it ... now this crap? Just who the heck does this guy think he is? QB rating of 74 last year and now this 23 year old kid wants to make demands of a 4 time SB, already in the HOF coach?! Gimme a break! I say there is no way in he!! we trade Ramsey. I don't care if he likes it or not. He's very cap friendly and will be one of the best #2 QB's in the league. It's about the team ... not YOU Pat. This makes the Redskins a better football team. Get used to it kid ... and quit your b!tchin'.

You still want the team to succeed, just not that player. A good friend of mine is a Bucs fan. For years, he has rooted for his team, but against Keyshawn Johnson, who he hates. He always told me that the best Sunday of his life would be the day that the Bucs won the Super Bowl, and Keyshawn Johnson broke his leg on the first play of the game. I want the team to win, but I just can't cheer for this guy. It's basically the same way I felt when they got Deion. BD
