MAATopDogg
INTEREST LIMITED IN BRUNELL As the Chargers, Redskins, Bucs, Dolphins and Cowboys continue to dance around the Jaguars for the right to give up at least a second-round pick in order to obtain quarterback Mark Brunell, several other teams believe that the interest in Brunell is unwarranted. The primary concerns regarding Brunell are his arm strength and injury history. As one source told us, "You'd better have one hell of an offensive line to protect that cat because he is about as durable as Humpty Dumpty back there at this point in his career." If for some reason Brunell's trade value decreases, look for teams like the Lions, Bears, Saints, and Steelers to jump into the fray. Regarding the Redskins' interest in Brunell, incumbent starter Patrick Ramsey reportedly is miffed about his prospects of getting benched. Ramsey's frustration level likely will increase on Wednesday, when he reads confirmation of our Tuesday lead that Gibbs isn't courting Brunell because he loves Brunell, but because he wants a veteran quarterback -- and that other targets include Jeff Garcia and Trent Dilfer. What a putz. This just confirms what Gibbs has said all along. If anything, it would calm Ramsey down, because it's obvious that Gibbs is doing precisely what he said he was going to do - get a veteran QB, one that will possbily compete for the starting position. If not Brunell, someone else.

gstahl
How about "Interest in Brunell diminishing?". I just love the off season scrapping for information. Soon there will be spotters at every airport looking for Danny's Jet or searches in the passenger information database looking for Gibbs travel schedule... Got to say Gibbs actions do draw a crowd.
