TC4
They talked about the Redskins and Gibbs meeting with Mark Brunell and showed a clip of Joe Gibbs talking about checking out all options But at the end the anchor said that it seems that Brunell's asking price is GOING UP Let's hope he wants TOO DAMN MUCH!!!! Burgold
Actually, let's hope that Brunell is reasonable and that the Jaguar's other bidders suddenly get cold feet. Brunell and Ramsey competing for the starting spot with the preseason loser being the backup sounds okay. The only thing I am wary of is losing the second pick. I think the fourth to fifth initially offered sounds much better. Best possible world would be Ramsey winning the preseason contest definitively and having the savvy backup ready if needed. Ancalagon the Black
Actually, let's hope that Brunell's price shoots up to a first rounder and a second rounder, the Cowboys pay it, and we get Jeff Blake.
Jimbo
NO MORE than a 3rd round pick for him. DEEEE-FENSE!

Cowboys won't give up anything more than a 3rd rounder for Brunell. Jerry Jones has been very careful ever since he got raped in that Joey Galloway trade. fish
Is it impossible to wait and get him after the Jags cut him? I just don't want to have to give up any draft picks.
HeHateMe
Something is going to be given up. And Jeff Blake?? OMG!! Please tell me you're kidding...
Sarge
We have other needs besides a QB that costs as much as Brunell seems to be now

I heard someplace that the Cowboys don't want to trade ANY of their draft picks since they have so many needs, so they might give up a player instead
HeHateMe
Agreed. Tuna cherishes picks. He wont be parting with any of them. He already traded the 6th and 7th rounders they have. It would have to be for a player. Galloway maybe?
bulldog
why would the Jags want a 32 year old receiver with a recent history of injuries?

I think the Jags might overreach and give him his $2 million roster bonus, after which they'll have to trade him (otherwise, they'll have spent $2 million for nothing). It'll sure bring the price down, though.
TheDane
Ancalagon - agreed. Sounds like the Jags are playing chicken and may end up burning themselves.
bulldog
I would imagine that the Chargers and Dolphins are desperate to get at Brunell via trade because if he becomes a free agent the Redskins and Cowboys will end up offering him a better deal money wise
