Heavy Jumbo
Now, I would WANT my starter to be Ramsey. Things change through trainging camp and preseason though.
Awesome
Nothing personal, but screw Mark Brunnell. We don't need him. Yes, Ramsey could really benefit from having a quality veteran qb on the roster, someone to teach him things that Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerffel and Rob Johnson couldn't. But, Brunnell comes at too high a price. There's other guys out there, ones who won't put a big dent in the cap, and who we won't have to give up draft picks in order to get. Trevor
I'd love to have Brunell(as a backup), if we signed him after he was cut. I don't want to give up any picks or Rod Gardner for him. I wish we knew more about what Gibbs plans to do and who he wants to be the starter.
galentjm
The only sense I can make of trading for Brunell is that by trading for him the skins have a stronger bargaining position in terms of a contract, whereas waiting until he is cut the skins would be competing with several teams (he is rumored to be wanted by atleast 4 other teams) in a bidding war. GreatRiggo44
All I know is that the backup is going to look a lot better this year.
Sweet Sassy Molassy
I go for Ramsey, he's already started to mesh with some of our other guys this season (Coles, McCants, Gardner). Ramsey and Coles especially have made a huge stride in bonding, they're like Manning and Harrison (for example). If you bring Brunell in as a starter then that means he'll have to learn an entirely new system, etc. I feel Ramsey has a much better handle on that because he's been there longer. freakofthesouth
Usually, polls that are posted more than once (!) are rudundant... But this repeat poll is very interesting, because yesterday, extremeskins was split on who should start for the Skins. As of now, the poll reads 20-2 in favor of Ramsey, a clear change-of-heart from yesterday's poll. I for one, voted for Ramsey, citing his currently un-tapped potential and toughness. He is our leader, and we will keep that continuity... And...as of the latest news...Brunell wants a GUARUNTEED starting position from his suitors. This will not be the case from Gibbs, so these threads may all be moot points.
Canadian Hog
My heart says Ramsey and my head says Ramsey as well. He just has too much upside. Give him protection and and mentoring/coaching of Joe Gibbs and this guy is going to be a star.
Lowghost
I don't think that we will sign Brunell, but I wouldn't be suprised that our new vet backup's first name is Mark.

Potato Sack
Ramsey! But then again, I'm not Joe Gibbs. And I trust EVERY decision he will make for the next 5 years whether those decisions fail or not!

Not to mention the left-handed/right-handed deal. Players need to adapt to balls spinning in a different direction.. plus the offensive line is affected as well. GreatRiggo44
Mark Brunell.. I'm going with experience and minimal mistakes. Once Ramsey fully learns Gibbs system, we bring Ramsey off the bench if things aren't running smoothly. By the way, I think this is one heck of a good move to acquire Brunell. codeorama
My personal choice is Ramsey, my ultimate choice is whom ever Gibbs says is the starter. I think he's wiser than any of us.

Go Patrick!!! Brunell would make as many mistakes as Ramsey guys. And Ramsey has more talent. Lately due to his lack of mobility Brunell has just been running into sacks, he was getting sacked a lot near the end of his starting days, and it wasnt his O Line's fault or anything. Ramsey got sacked but it was clearly the fault of the protection. Cant blame Patrick for getting sacked last year, or the year before, b/c when you keep 5 guys in to block and they blitz 6, its kinda hard to wait for each reciever to get deep. My point being, without hot routes and max protection, your screwed, it wasnt Ramsey's fault.
poidog22
I really think that bringing in Brunell will cause more problems than it solves. I would love for Ramsey to step it up and play well this year, but w/ Brunell on the team, he'd be looking over his shoulder the whole time, and may play a bit with his nerves and confidence. Hell, even these rumors of trading for Brunell has to make the kid wonder what the hell's going on. But in the end, I trust whatever Joe has to say. Tom [Giants fan]
Don't you actually have to have a player on your team in order for him to start?
Renegade7
Sorry ya'll but i truely think Brunell is going to end up starting. He's more experience and is an overall CURRENTLY better qb then Ramsey. U're right Ramsey is goin to be a star, but no yet. Not in his 3rd season. He's technically only played a full season compared to Brunell's 11. U have to put your best players out there in order to win. No offense to Ramsey but it might be iffy him getting us to the playoffs. With Brunell, they might as well set a spot ready for us cuz we're already there. ------------------------------------- 0-16, 19-0, skins fan till i die!!! edskin69
ramsey all the way baby! he proved to be a toughter qb than brunell will ever be!! with the beating he took last year! brunell is one hit away from! the nursing home!!!
Taco Bell
definitely brunell... we could have another 10+ years with ramsey and i feel the stupidity of spurrier's offense stunted ramsey's development... the only thing that worries me is the rumors about possibly trading away ramsey, which is not the right thing to do unless Gibbs wants to leave the skins with a QB he has developed himself, which i dunno, doesnt seem like the best choice as ramsey really does have the potential to be a great qb and trying to find another prospect in the draft future years would not be the best choice. But definitely brunell next year with ramsey in the wings, he would give us the better chance to win
Jay Master Jay
Ramsey is the man Brunell would be nothing but his back up. If we get him at all.
Jay Master Jay
If Leftwich can take Brunell's job how in the hell is he going to come take Ramsey's?? Brunell doesn't have it anymore if he did he would still be in Jacksonville. Our coach said we need a veteran back up not a veteran starter.
