NoCalMike
The man is potentially ONE HIT AWAY FROM RETIREMENT. This guy has been battered all to hell over the last 3-4 years in his career. He is at that age now where one hit in the chops could do him in. We all saw Ramsey get up from every hit last year. That can probably be attributed to his young age. There is no way we can trade Ramsey and rest assured that Brunel could even make it through a full year before taking that hit that will send him to retirement. Trust me I am ALL FOR Brunell as a backup as long as he UNDERSTANDS that he is a backup COMING INTO this situation. Furthermore, I feel a second round pick is also just too much. If the Skins are truly searching for a veteren backup, there should be a handful available via free agency. Why the hell give up a second round pick? I really feel awful about this move with Brunell unless on Monday(tomorrow) we get assurance that Ramsey will be our guy in 2004.
Jaguars130
I think this whole thing could be speculative, maybe to get Miami to bite, (jags would like that) but i doubt MIA would part with pick 20. Secondly who ever said it was this years second round pick, I mean that would make more sense, but it could be a trade involving next years 2nd rounder and a player packaged with it. Well see. Honestly after sitting out this entire year, I think brunell will be as healthy as he was in 2000. If he is your starter I think you guuys could make a legitimate superbowl contender, (boy wouldnt that suck for JAX) trade away brunell only to have him come back to play the superbowl in Jacsonville. What a story that would be.

BD
I'd just like to point out that in his entire career in the NFL, Brunell has only started all 16 games twice. Injury is a major issue with this guy. BD
jbooma
According to Prisco sitting out last year Brunell said he feels the best he has the past 5 years.
NavyDave
I just have this strickland for Rasheed wallace feeling if we land brunell. Brunell help tell him you want to finish in warm weather and in a tax free state on a team like the dolphins.

Newera
Actually last year Brunnell was playing very well for the Jags. He was putting up sick numbers. However, they were losing. They just decided to go with Leftwich.
