johndevivi
DO you think the skins will trade with the pats for their 2 first round picks, in their 2 second round picks cause the skins can do alot with that like get a rb and what ever they need? Taylor Made
Hard to say at this point. I've heard that if Bellicheck really likes someone its not out of the question to trade up, due to contrary belief.
G-Town
I really really think we will trade. Gibbs knows we need more lower tier players to fill out the roster, that HAVE quality.
terpfan44
If we trade with them the very least I'd take is their first (#32) the two seconds...so we will wind up with 5 of the first 68 picks and none of them being cap-killers...to get Lavalis, G. Jones, B. Watson, and two other good ones...I am open to whoever the coaches think at that point...D. Ball..or J. Groves...all of them can play ...are good citizens and will help tremendously...not bad for a #
Redskins022
I hope we trade with them. If we sign champ we will have a hard time paying the other top pick just like what everybody has been saying.
bulldog
that #5 pick came in the wrong year for the Skins. There are no compelling players at that spot. Tight end, safety? I wouldn't take tight ends or safeties that high as a rule. the Redskins need help at spots where there seems to be as much talent available in the 20's as at #5. that is a curse but also a blessing. knowing we won't be able to fill any of our big need areas at #5 allows us to be more flexible in our strategy. But I want more than the 2 first rounders from NE for the #5 pick. the Skins gave up 2 #1 picks AND a #2 pick to move up and take Chris Samuels at #3. NE may not part with their #2 pick, but we should get a #3 to reimburse ourselves for that pick we had to waste last offseason in trying to acquire a pick to compensate NY for signing Chad Morton. kingchris626
Is the RB from Virginia entering the draft? I forgot his name but I know he's big back.
thinker
Back to the point system for picks: #5 = 1700 points NE's # 21 = 800 points #32 = 590 points #56 = 340 points ------------------------------------ 1730 points #63 = 276 points The Skins won't trade #5 for less than both #1's and one #2. thinker
Another good trade is with Houston for pick #10 = 1300 points + and #40 = 500 points
miragv
we really dont know how a lot of these players are going to do. i am sure after all of the workouts and the combine our FO will know if there is someone we need that is worth it at the #5 pick. if not i wouldnt mind trading down to get an extra second or third rounder and at the same time get someone we need in the first round
AJWatson3
i would much prefer to trade with the Texans. that way we could still get an impact DL at the 10 spot. trading with NE, while we would be getting more picks, would lessen our chances of getting one of the premier players in this draft. Joey T
Bulldog has a nice point IF we trade out of #5: Originally posted by bulldog:the Skins gave up 2 #1 picks AND a #2 pick to move up and take Chris Samuels at #3. I hope we stay at home, make a nice pick @ five and in 20 years, appreciate his induction into the HOF as a Redskin:cool:
atloldskin
Who knows given the Brunell rumors? I thought we had draft choices and cap room to fix the DL and our other soft spots. I never figured on Brunell. I am nervous on this deal, but love his talent at the right price.

Prosperity
In light of the possible Rd2 for Mark Brunell I think we have to trade down, just so we can get as many contributors as possible with as little cost as possible. With those New England picks we can get Gregg Jones, Dockett, and Lavalais.
JWB
I would be happy with that and the Brunell acquisition!
Shotgunner
Trade down and get extra picks. We need lunchbucket guys that will get the job done and not be cap killers.
sacmaster
I THINK IT WOULD HAVE TO INVOLVE ANOTHER TEAM WITH THE CAP SPACE TO SIGN TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS. I DON'T THINK WE COULD DO THAT, SIGN CHAMP, GO AFTER JEVON KEARSE AND MAYBE WARREN SAPP. OK HERE IS A CRAZY PROPOSAL. WE GET BRUNELL, #9, #41 AND #105 FROM JACKSONVILLE AND NEW ENGLANDS #96 W/ ANTWAIN SMITH OR THEIR #64. JACKSONVILLE GETS NEW ENGLANDS #21 AND #32 ALONG WITH OUR #37 (THEY GET RID OF BRUNELL'S SALARY). NEW ENGLAND GETS OUR #5 PICK (THEY GET RID SMITH'S SALARY). IT COULD WORK BUT IT PROBABLY WONT HAPPEN. DOUBLE CHECK THE POINTS. THE PLAYERS WOULD BE MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL.
BG
Yes. Two late first rounders would be excellent. We won't have to dish out huge signing bonuses either.
