Da_Truth
We had a workout section at my college today and I was timed 4:10 in the 40 yard dash. The coaches were like, "son you are playing football this year." He said I would make a good WR or Kick returner with my speed but he said speed is only part of it. You have to work on fundamentals in becoming a good WR. I never played football before. I did wanted to me a linebacker after watching Lavar from his rookie year to now but i weigh only 180. He said I need to bulk up alot in order to be a linebacker. I recorded a 315 bench press and a 500 swat. The D.C. said that was pretty good for my weight and never playing football. Anyway wish me luck. My name is Dejay Williams ( not the OLB) and if I play I will be on Virginia Tech. Hopefully I will play for the Redskins!!! freakofthesouth
Congrats man! If what you meant was a 4.1 40, then that DGreen fast. Good luck man. Keep us posted.
Hitman56
If you are really that fast with that kind of strength and assuming you are a decent height (5'10 - 6'5), you should be working with the coaches every day to become a WR.
Dr. D
four minutes and ten seconds is darn slow for a forty time. shoot my fat old ass could run at least five minutes...
Om
Keep us posted on your progress, GR. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would get a kick out of following along and reading about your experiences. By the way, if you happen to find the $20 bill I dropped near the Duck Pond in 1982, PM me, and I'll buy you a beer.
pr11fan
See if they need a corner to replace D'Angleo, I'm almost as big as Smoooooot, and I have years of watching Darrell and Champ use the right techniques. I must've learned something.

If you really ran a 4.10 forty you wouldn't be playing college football, you'd be racing against and crushing Maurice Greene in the olympics. My hat's off to you if its true, but I'm skeptical. Om
I assume we're talking informal, hand-held stopwatch timing here. Not all that surprising to hear of a 4.1 in that kind of context. Let's face it, the difference between a 4.1 and a 4.35 can be nothing more that the thumb reaction time of a "quality control" coach with a bit of a hangover, and coming off a bad night's sleep at the Motel 6 next to the interstate, working the timer. No offense, GR.

BCS:BraveCaringSoul
"I was timed 4:10 in the 40 yard dash." 4.1 over forty yards would be flat out amazing. On the other hand 4:10 is Old Uncle Joe he's a movin' kinda slow at the junction type speed. Now which is it?
Eparadox
Man, if you were really clocked around a 4.1, then I'm sure there are many colleges that would give you track scholarships.

ArmchairRedskin
DG was the NFL's fastest man with a 4.24 40. I think Deion Sanders clocked a 4.19 one time. Just to put a 4.10 into perspective.
Skeletor The Invincible
Uh, 4.1 is almost impossible. I would be astonished if this "4.1" was a computer clocking system. Far more likely, as Om said, that this is a hand watch time. Probably closer to 4.3, which is very possible. And hey, good luck. You should stick to WR if you're that fast. Leonard Washington
cut the guy a break. if he is fast, it really doesn't matter what the time says. it shows. good luck. hopefully playing in pads won't slow you down too much.
