GSF
Forget about A. Smith because he stinks. How about we give them our #5 for their #'s 21,32, and 57 straight up. Then we could target DE Odom with the 21 pick, DT Dockett with the 32 pick, RB G. Jones with the 41 pick, and BPA with the 57pick. We'd be able to go after 2 top lineman with having to risk a top 5 pick on one, and we'd have those 2 second rounders to go after Jones and maybe a TE. Taylor Made
If we go after A. Smith it would suprise me, its not like he is coming cheap or anything. Has anyone mentioned his contract? 2002 525000.00 2003 1400000.00 2004 2400000.00 2005 4400000.00 2006 4900000.00 Why in the world would we go after a player this old with this much money on his contract? RDSKNfaithfull
Smith Sucks big time. I cant believe peoples memorys are that short:doh: If Trung ended the season with a 200yd game as he did against the Jets in 01 Would everyone be as happy? Btw the trade sounds good but I would go Dockett, Starks, G. Jones, then what ever Ben is left at TE.

Because none of the $'s are guaranteed. Cut him when he gets expensive - zero cap hit. The only cap hit that would occur would be to the Pats - any prorated SB would accelerate upon trade. EvoSkins
It will be hard to get the 57th pick from NE. The more likely second round pick would be the 63rd pick because of the pick value. There are two different pick value chart people are using and we don't know which the NFL uses.
TODD
With Antwoine Smith (sp), there is no real upgrade at RB. Ladell Betts can give us everything he can, minus about seven years in age and a much smaller salary. We get essentially a 3.5 ypc running back who is notorious for having poor regular seasons. I don't think he'd fit well, he's pretty bad catching out of the backfield, Kevin Faulk did almost all of those duties in New England. I don't even think I would give a 3rd rounder for him straight up. He doesn't fit well in an offense that relies on speed and finesse. Giving up such a valuable pick where we can choose pretty much anyone we want to fill our needs in the draft (as of now, the top five look to be WR's, QB's, and OT's; all positions of strength for us) is absurd, and would be wasted to get low 1st round choices. This draft is real top heavy, and a lot of question marks between picks 7-20. Leave this trade alone, it would truly impede our progress.

I would do the same trade with the 63rd if they didn't go for the 57th. The draft plan would basically be the same.
Joey T
These are all good suggestions. I would wait until we see what occurs during the FA period. If we have not improved our DL, that becomes a serious concern. If all indications are correct, Taylor is a franchise defensive player who can set the tone for our D. This could be a tough call for Gibbs. Maybe he'll bail out and take KW2.
Samuels
Which 1 #5-S.Taylor Fs #41-Marquise Hill De #74-Brandon Kennedy Dt 5th-Reggie Torber olb/de or #21-Starks/Dockett Dt #32- Sean Jones FS #41-Marquise Hill De #57-Ben Watson Te #74-Julious Jones/MeWelde Moore Rb 5th-Reggie Torber/Howard Hodges olb/de or #11-Winslow Te #41-Marquise Hill De #42-Sean Jones/Matt Ware FS #74-Brandon Kennedy Dt 5th-Torber/Hodges 2 is the trade with the pats useing pick value #57 can become #63. 3-Is a Steelers trade down I love the Pats trade if its strictly #5 for #21+#32+#57/ or #63. It gives us a chance at Wilfork,Harris,Udeze,W.Smith or Starks and i'll bet 1 falls if not Dockett will do. At 32 Sean Jones is a stud at Fs and can play the run and pass equally well. With our #41 we can have Hill or Odom at De.With the Pats #57/or #63 Ben Watson should be thier at Te or even Jake Grove may slip. With our 3rd we can tag Jones or Moore at Rb. Moore is the former teammate of Ramsey and a great pass catcher has caught 50+ passes every year and is a very good runner.
Guest SkinsHokie Fan
Option 2 definitley is most appealing to me. The more picks the better in this draft. The Redskins have enough high draft picks and "superstars" If we can get solid quality role players and have a chance to trade down there is no reason not to. Skins11
It would be really solid to get picks out of New England than Smith obviously. By the way, where did Kenny Thomas end up?

I wonder if he contributed.
Samuels
Moore was a 1,000 runner and caught like 60 passes from Ramsey has a freshman and sophmore. He had like 9 carries 45yrds in the senior bowl and scouts were saying he was like Roger Craig in the passing game.He is a shifty runner but scouts question his speed.
