Tom [Giants fan]
any of the other dominating player(s) you can think of on a dominating team? You always say that you have to have that special player to make it to the next level. The Skins had the Hogs which helped them pound other defenses. The Giants had L.T. which put a fear into other offenses. Ray Lewis has done the same thing with the Ravens. But can a coach be as important if not more than a player as previously mentioned? What would have happened if Andy Reid was coaching the Patriots? Or Spurrier? Or Fassel? Or any other coach? I can't believe I'm going to say this but I think Belichick is probably more important than any stud player you can have on your team. Do you agree or disagree? Gilgamesh
Without Brady, his team loses in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Heavy Jumbo
Everything goes back to the coaches. There are teams that win with pure talent on the roster, but in order to be really good you need a coach that can motivate his guys to win. Looked what happened in Dallas last year. Basically the same roster, different coach. If The Pats had Spurrier as their coach with the same roster they have now, they would have finished under .500, just like we did the past 2 years. Hogwash
As great as Brady is, I think that's where the Patriots have the avantage. They don't have a big name, big market, big money superstar. They play like a team and don't want to let down the guy standing next to them in the huddle. That's what Bellichick preaches, TEAMWORK. THat's what make New England great, that's what's going to sestblish them as the first dynasty of the 21st Century.
Ghost of
Uh, Seymour guys. Seymour. Law, Brady. Without them they don't win. Trust me.
JimboDaMan
Well of course they don't win without good players. I should think that goes without saying. But a week before the season we'd have included Milloy in that list of indispensibles. Hey, guess what - he was dispensible. No question that the MVP of that team is Belichick. Ghost of
I don't think so. When it counts, his D gives up points or am I the only one who realized that last night, or even against Indy?
