Maurice Clarret declaring for the NFL?

Where is this guy among the top running backs in the draft this year? My opinion this guy will be another Randy Moss type, whoever takes that chance to get him will pay dividends later. Another Barry Sanders-like figure and running style.

He is a big boy and pretty quick. He can run inside or out and is a specimen to be only 19yrs old.He could go very high with a fast 40. I'll say rd2 but he'll need to mature alittle more physically and mentally before being a starter probably 1-2 years.Could be a complete steal for anybody after rd 2.He would of been a very high pick if he woulda played 3 years in college.

He got stuff stolen from his truck and told police is was worth more then it was.The NCAA I think found out about him recieving the stuff some of it from LeBron James a close friend. He also had some class help I believe. OSU really hung him out to dry I think to cover themselves after they rode him to the championship.

Maurice left town just before the National Championship game to attend a funeral -- without permission. That was the first (public) issue. Second, a professor gave him a good grade for a class he never attended. That was the second (public) incident.

Most recently, Maurice's car was broken into.

A few problems: one, it wasn't his car. It was permanently "loaned" to him by a local dealership. Second, he claimed that $10,000 worth of stereo equipment was stolen. This raised some eyebrows at the NCAA, who investigated how a kid from a poor background got his hands on that much gear.

Turns out, he didn't. He lied to police to try to get the insurance money. That created a few problems -- one, the police don't like being lied to, and it's a crime. Second, everyone found out that his car actually belonged to a dealership owned by a major Buckeye booster.

On top of all that, he has a major attitude problem. If this kid goes in the second round, that's a big risk. He's either Randy Moss or Lawrence Phillips.

I don't think anyone will pick him, or sign him as an Undrafted free agent, if the NFL allowed it, which I don't think they would. He still has one more year before he's eligible for the NFL draft.

The reason no one would want him, is simple: Gruden and Arrington were interviewed about him. Gruden said, I wouldn't sign that snot nosed brat and Arrington said, if he came into the league earlier than he should, guys like him will paint a bullseye on him and kill the kid.

this kid would be making a huge mistake if he came out now. as it stands i would say he is a late-second round pick-- at best. if he would just stay in school for one more year and have a season similar to his freshman year he would probably be a first round draft pick, and possibly the first RB off the boards (he or Caddy Williams).

showing the NFL people that he can go to school, play football, stay out of trouble, and work on his maturity would do wonders for his draft stock.

Despite what others said Maurice was suspended for taking money from a family friend in Youngstown and for several (12-16) violations of the NCAA bylaw dealing with lying to NCAA investigators pertaining to a truck he was test driving that was broken into
