Sean Taylor Positives and Negatives

(Did a cut and paste, sorry forgot the source...)

Positives: Sean Taylor is an impact player who has a nose for the football. He has excellent size, great speed, and the cover skills of a cornerback. He has great agility, loves to punish opponents and does a fantastic job in run support... a big hitter! He's very aggressive and intelligent. Always seems to be in on the play.

He is an impact player in the mold of a Roy Williams from Dallas... only bigger and maybe a touch faster.

Negatives: Sean Taylor is about as solid as a safety can be coming out of college. I do not see any real weaknesses in his game.

Projection: This kid's hard-hitting style of play is going to make him a marquee player in the NFL. He should go early in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

The Skins will have the chance to draft Taylor at 5, I think. So I don't see any team liking him so much that they'd be willing to trade into the top 5 to nab him. If we pass on him though, he'll be gone by the next pick.

Negatives: He plays safety.

Sorry, guys, but grabbing a playmaker at safety when this team has such glaring holes on the DL and elsewhere is a luxury we just can't afford. Worse, you tie up big money in a position that typically doesn't get that kind of money, which gets you in trouble later on. Lots of players can reasonably argue that they have more impact on the game than a safety and ask for more money.

I think he's a great player. I think he'd be a great Redskin. I just don't know if it's such a good idea to take him or Winslow when safeties and tight ends just don't change games that often.

I'd rather have a really good DE than a great safety anyday.

REDSKINS NATION you like those sexy players. Look at the SB the sexiest player is Tom Brady, and he has a croked smile. I think we need to stop the Taylor talks. If the Giants get Todd Wade or John Tait it's ben reported that they would take Taylor with the fourth pick. You're setting yourself up for disappointment. We don't need a player like Taylor. Look at the Eagles and Cowboys. Both teams paid alot of monety to their secondary. And both got torched by a nobody like Delhomme. You have to put pressure up front to make the people in the back look good. Why is Champ sitting home while Tod Cousins is going to Houston. Okus Ernie is drwan to Miami players like a moth to a flame.

Good point but Carolina won not because of Delhomme but because the Eagles pulled a no-show.

JBooma - not for us. Now dont get me wrong I think Winslow will be a great player but the Gibbs system is not for him. The appeal for KW2 is that he is thought of to be the next Shockey, and that would be a sexy pick - hahahah... but not for us.

I know I was just telling OY he needs to practice what he preaches. He was posting all of these K2 posts and now he gets mad about a sexy pic

What's good enough jbooma?

Suggs was a far better DE then him and he went later. He is a very good DE but he is not worth the #5 pick, he is good but wouldn't put him on that special stage just yet.

You should never draft for need with the top 5 pick, you should draft the best player available it is simple as that. When teams draft for need at such a high pick is where the mistakes are made.

I have said if Fitzgerald would be at #5 you have to get him. A lot of you laughed at me and now he might go 1 or 2.

Suggs was still in the top 10 jb

and do you know WHY he went late? Size/speed concerns. He ran a 4.85?, actually I think even slower than that. he's a LB right now, for jeebus'sake.

Suggs was a better pass rusher(though he had the time to develop, wasnt he a senior coming out) but that doesn't mean he was a better player.
