Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals on Tuesday signed free-agent defensive end LaDairis Jackson to a two-year contract.

Jackson, who played college football at Oregon State, will be entering his third NFL season.

The Bengals acquired him on waivers Oct. 22 from Washington. He was on the game-day inactive list for five games before the Bengals waived him on Nov. 25.

Jackson played in 15 games for Washington in 2002, with 2.5 sacks among his 15 tackles.

I thought LJ was a big asset year before last. I have said before that losing him to injury and then release was another instance of the decrease in our "talent" level on D this past season compared to the year before.

I think he was part of the "attitude" that the coaching staff didn't care for that much. Wasn't it reported that he was upset he was deactivated and didn't play this year when our defense was struggling? It's probable that the team didn't feel he was ready medically speaking, a torn patella tendon and meniscus tear doesn't heal overnight, so they eventually released due to his attitude and slow progress.

Cincy signed him.. then quickly realized he couldn't help them either due to the slow healing progress and conditioning. They released him to make room for a special teamer down the stretch I think.

Lewis might believe something's there to build on.

Come on; he had time to prove himself. Stop acting like we lost Reggie White in his prime. Every marginal player who leaves the 'Skins and signs with somebody else is automatically a huge loss. I guarantee we won't be hearing ANYTHING about Ladarias Jackson in the coming season.
