Bang
OK, The correct answer is Mel Gray. Neither Mel Gray ever played in a Super Bowl. Oronde Gadsden was an undrafted free agent rookie with the Cowboys in 1995. He broke his eye orbital bone in one of their first preseason games and spent the season on the PUP list. He was activated for the postseason and warmed the bench throughout the postseason. He never caught a pass for them. But he was on the team when they won the Super Bowl. He doesn't show up on any stat sheets because he never cauight an official pass with them, and he wasn't drafted. The Cowboys cut him, then he went to Canada for a year or two, then to Miami. Bernie Kosar won one as a Cowboys backup in 93. Wade Wilson won with the Cowboys in 95 Grbac won with the 94 49ers Nehemiah with the 89 49ers Greg Pruitt with the 83 Raiders Don Beebe with the 96 Packers Bubby Brister with the Broncos in 97 and 98 So, the correct responses as i can see it were given by Blitzkrieg Bubba DieselPwr Drex ThatGuy Blazers21 Dan T Jay Master Jay. Ok, here's how we'll determine the winner. The first one of you eight to PM me with the correct answer to THIS question wins! better than that old name in a hat, thing, huh? Ok, here goes. Four #1 overall draft choices (first pick in the draft) have won the Super Bowl MVP award. Who? First one in wins! (OF THE EIGHT WINNERS. so save it if you guessed Gadsden) Go! ~Bang

EagleSteve
Bradshaw - 1st pick of '70 Aikman - 1st pick of '89 Elway - 1st pick of '83 Plunkett - 1st pick of '71 and Namath, 1st pick of '65 in the AFL draft. EDIT: Sources: First overall selections: http://www.drafthistory.com/top_picks/toppick.html Super Bowl MVP's: http://www.superbowl.com/history/mvps A note on Gadsden - he was signed off the Cowboys practice squad to their active roster for the playoffs, severely sprained his ankle three days later (without appearing in a game) and was placed on IR for the rest of the playoffs as the Cowboys went on to win the SB. So he got a ring, then was cut and out of football for several years before being signed by the Dolphins. The above is in his biography on the Dolphins' web site. EagleSteve
Thanks. Never would have won a drawing. I thought it was a very good question. Tricky enough to throw most off with Gadsden.
