Ghost of
We've all gone over who we want and why, and the idiotic arguments that have been punctured over and over---so that said, who do you think will be the big busts to come from this draft?? It can't be someone perceived to be Second Day talent, it has to be First Day talent evaluation. Who are going to be the disappointments and busts in this draft? I'l start off with Will Smith. He may be decent but I can see him being a major disappointment.
Trevor
I agree with you on Will Smith. I don't think he'll be much better than Renaldo Wynn. My gut tells me the QB from Miami OH will be a bust despite good physical skills.
Bazooka Tooth
I would have to put my vote in for Chris Perry. He was a great back at Michigan, but I just dont think he will pan out at the next level.
Riggo-toni
Can a guy named Roethlisberger really be a successful NFL QB?

Ghost of
riggo-toni You bring up an interesting point. I have tried to envision certain "names" as being good or great players, and I just don't see it. Did anyone think that LaDainian Tomlinson WOULDNT be a good player? I mean with that name, he'd have to be, right? Kendrell Bell? Lavar Arrington?
Ghost of
ASF I was going to say KJ too, but I think he'll probably be OK---but if he's taken top 10 I think they'll be expecting a 1500 yard back.

To me, he's all flash and no lunch pail. I'm not going to dispute his spectacular plays, but I went back and reviewed his carries on the season, and it appeared he was stuffed in several games (U-C-F, Virginia, California), often didn't carry the ball for a high number of carries, and had misleading stats in some big games. (For example, against Miami, he got 124 yards, but most of those yards were on a handful of big runs. If you review the play-by-play, he wasn't responsible for carrying the load in any long drives in the game, and disappeared late in the game.) I smell Trung Canidate.
BCS:BraveCaringSoul
Tommy Harris will not be a bust, but he will not be a star either. He's just a solid lineman.

Montilar
Kellen winslow. Too big a name to live up to. Not to mention the hype. Unless he's a consistent 60 to 80 catch TE, he ain't worth a top 10 to 15 pick or the money. a 10 yd average ain't too impressive either for a "big play" guy. As for how he will open it up for Coles and Gardner; draft a roy williams, Fitzgerald or Woods and have a 3 WR set, running Gardner or woods down the middle.... that'd keep the safeties honest as well (remember clark, sanders, and Monk?) there does need to be a third threat; it doesn't have to be a TE. TC4
This thread reminds me of a funny story Back when the 1998 NFL Draft was held, the Colts had tne #1 overall pick followed by the Chargers. The Colts of course picked Peyton Manning, and then at #2, the Chargers took Ryan Leaf Well my dad the Colts fan was convinced the Colts had made a TERRIBLE mistake by taking Manning over Leaf, saying that Leaf was "better prepared" to be an NFL QB
Ghost of
Unfortunately, TC4, we don't have access the interviews and personality tests that some teams use. I'm not saying even those are the definitive evaluation instrument, but they would help us laymen with draft evaluation.

Atlanta Skins Fan
Whenever I think huge bust, I think Pamela Anderson. Edit: the preceding space is dedicated to the massive Pamela Anderson photo that Ghost Who Talks doesn't want you to see. Down with censorship! Down with mind control! Hogwash
huge bust! very clever. Well now that the screen is a mile wide i'll mention mine. I think that Eli Manning will be a bust. Everyone thinks he's gonna be the Peyton v.2.0 but i think it's gonna be more like a Joe and Vincent DiMaggio type deal.

I have watched this guy for 4 years and I am willing to put him up against any other d-lineman in the draft and say he will be more successful than any of them. Wait til you see how versatile this guy his. Our DC used to drop him back into coverage about 8-10 times a game, he's that fast. Against Wazzou last year he made this play on Devard Darling ( a WR) chased him down on a reverse for like a 4 yard loss. PS aren't you a scUM fan? As for actual busts, I'm going to go with a guy that the Fresh Prince *****-slapped this year, Robert Gallery. Had 2 sacks, 4 TFL, 13 tackles, 2 FF, and a FR in a crucial 19-10 victory over the Hawkeyes. My Guess is that in Seattle and NE you can't watch many Buckeye games
Ghost of
I've seen a few actually. Not every single one, no, but I've seen a few. scUM? LOL Odd, we just call you Ohio State. But then OSU fans have always had an inferiority complex. On the verge of playing other top squads you guys sing anti-Michigan songs and the like. Whereas Michigan fans worry about who they're playing that week.
