bsmsss
joe never had a great saftey--edwards,copeland.murphy,walton etc were his starting safties for his super bowl teams--he never had an all pro impact player at that postion--thus i dont see him taking taylor as for the d line the 5 pick is to high for harris or smith--i see this postion being filled via free agentcy--kearse-wintrum,howard,sapp,r smith are all possibilities a gibbs offense with coles, gardner, jacobs, mccants, power rb? and winslow could be un real--tons of fire power for ramsey--with the teams having to worry about gibbs power running game the te would be difficult to defend ala tony g(kc and holmes) or todd heap (balt and lewis)--so dont under estimate this pick a great te is something few teams have-its a huge adv on sunday if you have a heap, shockey, tony g and now maybe winslow running routes :eaglesuck
ArmchairRedskin
I remember Walton for his bone jarring hits. :applause: The thing that's different now though is Gregg Williams and his 46. He might need a free safety like Taylor since the strong safety is used a lot in blitzes. I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
johndevivi
I like winslow and Taylor I say we try to get both trade most of are picks for next year but just a thought.
RDSKNfaithfull
This is not the 80's, teams pass down field a lot more a saftey will be a very good thing to have. Any time a Qb puts air under the ball such as Kerry Collins with his prayers to Toomer and Donavan with his hailmarys down the sideline. Taylor would end all of that. Hogwash
I see all the players saying Gibbs did this in the 80's and "Gibbs type of player" give me a break. We need a guy like Taylor more than an over-rated TE. Winslow made on good play last year, and that was against WVU. The then he cost Miami 2 other games with personal fouls. Sure the Va Tech game wasn't very close, but still.

atloldskin
If Kiper picks Winslow, it must be wrong! I still think it will be Taylor.
DieselPwr44
With really no defensive lineman worth a number 5 pick in this year's draft,I think you have to go with the best player available- that fills a need. More and more I'm starting to think that the player for us is Sean Taylor. That's if we keep the #5 pick. Personally,I'd like to see us trade down and pick up some more picks. We have so many holes to fill,it just seems like the sensible thing to do.
