The Redskins need a mascot!

The Hoggettes are great but i'm talkin about a real mascot that the children can enjoy ya know?

That's a generalized commerical mascot (AKA Rowdy Cowboy) that 90% of the fans dislike. The Hogettes, Chief Zee, The Band are a "real" part of the Redskin tradition built over the years out of love.

Some putz in a goofy costume is bush league

They're kinda like Birdman in Philly and the fireman guy at Jets' games...

Forget the children, hog. We got the Hoggettes and Cheif Zee, and tens of thousands of other fans that luv the redskins. We got like a 100,000 season ticket waiting list, what do we need to get more pumped for football for? For the children? This is football man, not sesame street.

The Eagles have a fight song, but...well, it's lame. And it does not compare to the history of the Skins' fight song. And the Ravens do have a marching band, which I think was the original Colts (or Browns) marching band.

One of the reasons why I have always loved the Skins is because of the college-like atmosphere with the band and fight song. It really is a reminder of the "old" RAH! days, and I think it's cool. But I am not crazy about the idea of the mascot. I always think, at least in the pros, they look rather silly. (Though few can beat the silliness of Stanford's tree mascot. :-P) The Dallas mascot is one of the sillier ones in pro-football.

I think we have enough identifiable traditions of the team without a mascot. Anyways, folks would just point at a new mascot as being a Snyderism, and it would become an object of sneer. Plus, the PC, "Anti-Redskins" crowd would use it as another tool of derision.

Personally, I think the way it's been for many years is just fine. My son, who's 10, goes w/me sometimes and doesn't give a hoot about seeing a mascot. Who cares about a mascot, I say stick w/tradition. Besides, I'm afraid that if we had a mascot, Snyder might charge another 1.00 per ticket to pay for it.

I say spruce up the cheerleader's outfits first :D :D :D
