I know some of you mentioned you havent really seen him play, and though this certainly isnt seeing him play it will just give you an idea of how he plays and what an absolute freak he is! Its just a short 10 second thing with no sound, but I still find it absolutely amazing how fast he covered all that ground, and just look at how big he is!!!!!!

Sean Taylor picks off Luke McCown

I hope that link works, but if not just go here

Then go to the bottom of the page and click on the link for the video.

Yeah, I think I have posted stuff about this, but haven't had a draft analysis that mentioned it straight out like this...

There are also some character concerns. Taylor doesn't always come across as coachable and it has been reported that he is one of the most stubborn players on the Miami roster.

GIBBS will transform into a team player and you know that Lavar will not let this kid get a big head early on. Armstead (if hes still around) can be this kids mentor considering they both attended Miami U. abeit 10 years apart. I think he is a safe pick because when you think about all of the highly touted D-lineman to come out DE's/NT's and DT's only a couple have been homeruns in the draft - Kearse/Jason Taylor/Peppers etc. not too many DT's have actually panned out in the last 5 years. Ok Kris Jenkins, but he was not even a high draft pick.

I wouldnt let those character concerns drive us away from drafting him. He's not a problem like Randy Moss. A lot of guys are considered "uncoachable" in college b/c they really are so good that they have nothing to be coached on, but once they are in an enviroment like the NFL when they arent the hot shot anymore, they become really coachable.

I dont worry about Taylor's character at all, i've just heard he's a really quiet guy though.

I think this might have some bearing on if he is selected by us or not. that is not a Joe Gibbs type of player.

Once again, if you look at the entire draft class of safeties, you'll find busts.

BTW, Dawkins was the last pick of the second round. Milloy was a second round pick and wasn't the first safety drafted. We'd be better off drafting Sean Jones or Schweigert in the second, IMO.

These are good points. Shows you that Safety is a safe position in the draft. I'd like to see a breakdown on ends taken in the past few years. I'd also like to see a pass rush coming fromthe Skins next year.

Search for Consigliere's recent posts, he has a good breakdown.

Sure there are DE busts, but a lot of them had questions that Udeze does not have. More importantly, the best Dlines are built with #1 picks. Safeties can be had in second and lower, quality safeties I mean.

i think you meant to say it is much harder to find a great Safety than a great DT, but i don't think that statement is accurate either. there are a ton of good safeties, ed reed, lynch, sharper, archuleta, sammy knight, mike minter, brock marion, rodney harrison. i could keep going. fact is having a great DL helps the Defense alot more then a great safety, and a no frills line will hurt you more then having a no frills safety. sure having a great safety would be nice, but its really not that important for success, which is why cornerbacks that have lost a step, can always fall back on being a safety, jason seahorn. and as for safety busts you only have to go as far back as last years hands down best safety troy pomamalou (sp) out of USC. regarded as a guaranteed stud, he has virtually disappeared, and didn't help the steelers secondary one bit. conversely mike doss, indy's second round proved to be a great pick for that D.
