goldenster95
-- Eagles to Extend Reid? -- from FFMastermind.com The Philadelphia Daily News reports league sources think Eagles HC Andy Reid will eventually end up with a new long-term deal worth $4 million to $4.5 million a year. "He is arguably today the greatest coach in the history of the Eagles," agent Bob LaMonte said. "If he's not, he's close. And he hasn't been there very long. -- No Trading Offers for Dillon... Yet -- from FFMastermind.com The official website of the Cincinnati Bengals reports on Monday, Bengals HC Marvin Lewis quashed one here at the Senior Bowl when he said the Bengals don't have a trade offer for RB Corey Dillon. Not from Dallas. Not from Washington. Not, it seems, from anywhere. Yet. He did indicate a timetable, saying such trades are most likely going to happen before the April 24-25 Draft. Lewis said the current Dillon-to-Dallas bolt is just as baseless as the cybershot back in October, which, in part, ignited Dillon's ire. "Mike (Brown) didn't talk to 'em and I didn't talk him 'em, so it's about like where it was in the fall," Lewis said. "Chances are things move before the draft. Anytime you have a veteran player, a lot of it is going to occur before, but you never know." -- Bucs Starting QB Slot Wide Open? -- from FFMastermind.com The Tampa Tribune reports as Bucs QB Brad Johnson's quarterback rating deteriorated late last season, apparently so did the Bucs' confidence in his ability to lead their offense. As a result, Johnson is expected to face some strong competition for the starting job come training camp. A high-ranking Bucs official confirmed Monday that the team is discussing staging an open competition for the starting quarterback's job, and several sources have suggested Johnson's top rival could be Mark Brunell or Rich Gannon. ``Obviously, those guys have to become available,'' one source said of Brunell, 33, and Gannon, 38, who are under contract to Jacksonville and Oakland, respectively. ``But everybody around the league thinks they will be. ``The other thing is, [bucs coach] Jon [Gruden] loves good competition. He wants to see guys compete for their jobs, and I think in this case he wants to throw it open and let the best man win.''

@DCGoldPants
Gannon in Tampa while Simms grows? Interesting. He knows the offense.
redblazer00
I don't think you can trade players right now? That would be against the rules!
SonnyJ
Yeah, TC, I was just thinking the same thing. Actually, damning with faint praise was my thought. What about that report about Brad? If accurate (big IF), what a case of what have you done for me lately, huh? Guy just won a Super Bowl and they're talking about replacing him. You think Gruden will be villified like Snyder was for bringing in other QBs besides Brad? KevinthePRF
I put Andy Reid as one of the all time greatest head coaches... ....... that has never been to a Super Bowl.
Talent Wasted at a Desk
Maybe Gruden will sign Jeff George?
