Om
Hmm. This may not be the most scintillating or original concept for a post I've ever seen ... but what the hey. It belongs in FedEx, not the Tailgate. As to the question ... how about framing it a bit more? Like trading him for what, for instance ... and doing what with the #2 WR slot if we do? Even Madder
Yeah, sure, trade him. Questionable hands and all. Hell, I'd trade him just so I don't have to watch him false start anymore. He must lead the NFL in false starts by a WR. But no one on the roster has shown any signs of being a good #2, so you've got to replace him. So trade him only if you get a first round pick for him. big z
Yeah, I know, I know.... but I can't get over the though of TO in the Burgandy and Gold. Is he an unrestricted FA? or have the niners decided to Franchise him? They can have Gardener for the rights to TO. Gibbs could handle it. Talk about an exciting offense! Chopper Dave
OK, this is what we do. We trade Rod for a young RB Najeh Davenport or something, along with a pick. We'd pick up a vet, and they'd split carries until Najeh was ready to take over. Boom. We go from there. Just a theory.

The Dark Horse
Gee, while we are at it, let's trade Arrington, Ramsey, and Samuels. Who needs all that young talent anyways.... <DETECT THE HEAVY SARCASM>

redman
I think there are more "trade Gardner" threads on this forum than he has career catches. No, don't trade him because he's the most athletic and fast big WR we have, and he's the perfect complement to Coles.

I never heard of him having problems before this year. C'mon, he had a 1,000 yrd sophmore season! Sure he's young, and he's the most physical reciever we got. Lets just wait and see what Gibbs does with him. If he can't produce, then we trade him. Everyone eventually has a bad year, even the great ones. Rod is known as our most physical receiver but when was the last time he broke a tackle after a catch or proved to be an effective downfield blocker. Thats what frustrates me, he's got the size and power but doesn't utilize them. That and the penalties.:40oz:
