RDSKNfaithfull
Ty law had a great game no doubt but the whole defense is great and for those saying he is a true shut down corner  you didnt watch the Tenessee game did you? Also quick hint they were playing zone half the night and he wasnt locked up on anybody. He is great no doubt but all corners have good days and bad days but Champ is younger and Way more of a athlete than him.
@DCGoldPants
Champ never had a D-line who put pressure on the QB like that either.

As far as him dropping ints he had a bad year people no doubt but the guy played reciever and made some damn spectacular catches at Georgia. I'm glad he's on our team. But he doesn't deserve to be the highest paid CB in the league. His production just doesn't justify it.:2cents:

The best CB's not only shut down their man but also make the opposition pay for testing them. Champ can cover but until he reaches that next level and makes teams pay for testing him, I just can't consider him the best CB in the league. sjinhan
they are both really good corners but i think the difference is that when Law has a chance to make a BIG play he does while Champ always seems a step or two away from making a big play himself... Jay Master Jay
When you're in a zone and your D-line is putting pressure on the QB you can take certain chances. Champ will be fine once our defense gets a coaching staff that will stay for more then one season. No one should be complaining about our defense when every year they have to learn a new system. Ty Law has had the same coach for at least 5 years can Champ or anyone else on our defense say that?
Neophyte
Point 1 - Darrell Green often joked about how many more INTs he would have had if his hands hand not been put on backwards. He dropped more than he caught in this career and I have not read anyone picking on him about it. Point 2 - Champ plays less zone than Ty Law so he has less chance to "free lance" a bit. At least one of the INTs yesterday by Law came in zone coverage. Point 3 - Ty Law does not tackle in the open field like Champ. Make no mistake, Law is good but Bailey is a better tackler. Point 4 - Bailey makes other teams game away from him. Law does not seem to inspire that sort of respect. The only CB who compares in an all around way with Bailey right now is Woodson in Oakland. Point #1: How many times, when we absolutely needed a big play from the secondary or the big punt return did Darrell Green step up and make it happen? Plenty of times,as we all know. Point #4: Did you watch any of the games this year? They threw to Champ's side alot. Why? I believe it's because teams no longer fear Bailey because they know that the worst that will happen is an incomplete pass. Hopefully Gibbs and his staff can teach Bailey to make the opposition pay for testing him.
Neophyte
And maybe they threw at Champ a lot because everone knew he was injured. Just a thought there. And yeah, Darrell used to make big plays when we needed it. So has Champ. I will take defensed pass over a completion anyday.

RDSKNfaithfull
Law was in Zone coverage in all 3 int's Champ has room to grow. Watching the playoffs in generall you should see the defenses are all in such a different league then the skins and its not physicall its all mentall a rookie D cord who had no controll might have had somthing to do with that as well as maybe the worst front 4 in the league. Maybe Trotter dropped 7yards off the ball in coverage everyplay had somthing to do with our D sucking as well. How many times did you see a saftey come over and give Champ any Support???? When Champ is manned up he is the last line of defense as Law has Rodney Harrison waiting to make the hit if he doesnt get the int.
bulldog
1. Bailey played this year with significant shoulder and hand injuries, so I would not grade him too far down for the lack of interceptions and ball-hawking. A lot of guys wouldn't have played with those injuries 2. At the same time an argument CAN be made that Champ is in a group of 6-8 players that can legitimately be called the top group of DBs in the NFL. Champ demanding to be separated out from that group with a $20 million bonus when his play has not yet separated him I think is premature.
kingchris626
Champ if the not the best is one of the best corners in the league.
thinker
Champ couldn't practice most of the year with injuries, had no support from the coaches, DLine, safeties, was on a team that won 5 games, still had the respect of peers and coaches to make the probowl. If you reversed all of those factors, you'd have little doubt Champ is one of the top 2 corners.
