Only if he can play left guard.

Seriously running back is not a need - that’s not saying Cook is not a better back than anyone we have, but when you factor in the contract he will want that cap space can be better invested in other areas.

Oline?

Yep! I’m hoping there is another signing to come on the O’Line, probably in the late cuts. We picked Leno up late in the process, I think most of us believe we still need help on the line.

It's one of the reasons I'm hoping this sale goes through as quickly as possible.

If it is the sale that's holding up some signings to shore up weak spots and not riveras stubbornness then we need to get it done before there's no meat left on the bones.

There is a reason why Payne's signing bonus is due in September.  Michael Lombardi has openly advocated for Dalvin Cook to be here as he would give our offense juice (he thinks Robinson & Gibson are good backs, but Cook is an elite back).  However, Lombardi has said that we really can't sign anyone for big bucks until the ownership situation is resolved (he pointed to the Payne signing bonus September due date as an example).

Dalvin wants closer to 10M than 5M, even if I thought we needed a RB I’d say no thanks and prefer to invest that money in the OL if possible.

These guys like Eifer and Hudson just hang around the bottom of the roster with no real great talent in front of them and can't break through.

I hear you, but to be fair to him, this is only his 2nd offseason with us, his 3rd in the league, and I believe he was an OLB in college.  Not that I’m expecting anything from him of course, just saying it is/was always going to be an uphill battle for him.  Sticking on a roster was the first step, now we’ll see if he can take the next step.

Cook is on the decline.  So far I don't think he has lost much speed, but his broken tackles are significantly down and that may go to that lingering shoulder injury he has the past two seasons and for which he recently got surgery.  RB's take a pounding, so its just risky to give big money to one who has taken a lot of hits, even one with the track record of Dalvin Cook.  Lets say he will never break as many tackles as he did at his prime and then he loses just a little speed.   All of a sudden you are looking at an average guy who is probably in the ball park of the guys we already have.

Yeah, I wasn't advocating signing Cook.  Rather, giving an example of how we really can't do anything (for big bucks) until Harris becomes the new owner.

The EB connection. He didn't really look like his old self and never really became a true COP to Chubb like Browns fans expected…but Chubb is possibly the best pure runner of the ball in the league so maybe that’s not surprising.

Hunt would be a waste. I don't think he's too impressed with BRob would be my guess.

I think that could be the case too, and he also seems a little redundant, him and Rodriguez have the same traits.

"I don't think he's too impressed with BRob would be my guess".

That was my impression also from the various limited, possibly out of contexts snippets of their interactions in OT, I have kind of brushed it aside as being nothing but who knows?

After what that young man went through last year I would be really upset if they cut him (BRob) without very good reasons.

I doubt that'll happen he was a 3rd round pick last year and he was productive, I'd say at worst he replaces Jonathan Williams but anything is possible.

I'd also add that I'd be more upset if they kept him because of what he went through than if they cut him because they don't feel he'll contribute.

BRobs running style invigorated the Commanders fans last year. Would be a Danny move to replace him...

CRobs clips do the same as his running style.

Maybe not thrilled with Gibson...

Is it possible EB doesn't like the receiving and protection skills of the current group?

I don't think interest in hunt is a knock on brob or AG, or a "Danny move".  He would be a good addition to any RB rotation.  If he is still available at this point in the offseason, it's fair to inquire how much his price has come down.  Ideally, Brob and CR would be between the tackles, backfield type RB, hunt and AG would line up all over.  They complement each other well, and each type of RB has a man ready to fill the spot once the inevitable injuries start to hit.

According to the reports, Gibby has been doing a lot of pass catching, so maybe they view him more of a WR now. Sounds like they're happy with him.

They are apparently throwing a lot to Robinson, too.

The one thing I like about it is they are kicking the tires.  And I suspect but don't know that Bieniemy might have more of a sense of urgency about this season than Ron -- if so and the O line gets exposed in camp maybe he pushes a signing or two on that front.

I agree with the others who feel that the RB room is far from our most glaring need of upgrade. Get us a starting grade tackle. It's actually easier to run the ball with the occasional open lane
