Election 2024 & Presidential Race: Demented WannaBe Dictator Trump vs President Biden

If Trump doesn’t win the nomination, he is going to claim foul and a large contingent of his people will follow suit and stay home.

He does not have the intellectual and emotional capacity to admit defeat. He wasn’t going to concede to Hillary if she won in 16. He inspired a deadly coup after losing in 20. Whats behind number 3?

Republicans eye Manchin as top target in 2024

Senate Republicans say Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) will be a top electoral target in 2024, even though he has voted with them more often than any other Senate Democrat and helped Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) block an effort to reform the chamber’s filibuster rule.

Smarting from the disappointing failure to retake the Senate majority in this year’s midterms, Republican strategists predict that McConnell will pour millions of dollars into West Virginia next cycle to flip Manchin’s seat.

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, one of several Republicans who could challenge Manchin in 2024, said the centrist Democrat will pay a political price for supporting the Inflation Reduction Act, which included major components of President Biden’s agenda such as tax reform, prescription drug reform and hundreds of billions of dollars to fight climate change.

This. If he's alive, he's doing this.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "unapologetically" in my post. More that he just pushed things through without any concern for diplomacy or bipartisanship.

And do you view that as a positive in a president?

Nothing like putting the will of the party in place of the will of the nation.

Not necessarily. But, I think it gained him some respect with conservatives. My main point was that DeSantis isn't very much like Trump because he:

1) Actually believes the things he says, rather than just says them to gain political points.

2) Has more "politician" in him, so he has the restraint and polish to conduct himself better during a debate or in public

Therefore, I think he plays just as well with actual conservatives from a policy perspective (which is important during primaries) and doesn't hurt the GOP during the election cycle with independents.

It will be interesting to see how this restraint comes across in a debate vs Trump, if DeSantis decides to run.

Was reading a column by Jonah Goldberg today where he said Trump supporters expect people to be civil to him, but yet they regard Trump's incivility as charming and hilarious. the double standard is nauseating.

It'll be interesting if he doesn't respond for until the primaries really begin, whenever that starts for the GOP this time around. Every hurricane between now and then, Team Cheeto Jesus is going to say he did a terrible job and needed Biden to swoop in to save him again.

You can’t fact check candidates for the most important elected office in the United States, possibly in the world?

Elon wouldn’t stand for this. /s

Wait.  Why are politicians off limits for fact checking?  This makes no sense.  Politicians are one step shy of lawyers...
