I don't know if I said it here, but I expect Trump to drop out.Ā  He's dumb as ****, but he can't be THAT dumb to go thru with this debate, they're already making excuses for his poor performance on Fox News. Anyways, from what I've heard, Trump says he already has all the votes he needs to win at this very moment. If he goes thru with this debate, he'll be playing with house money (in his mind), he won't hold back...its not in his nature. I will sit down Thursday and expect a show, I think we'll get it, we need it to win. All Trump has to do is appear normal, Biden has to nail it out of the park.

Ā

Fox is just setting expectations...its normal.Ā  Also I have no idea where this "Trump is gonna drop out" line of thinking comes from, but no way it happens.Ā  For people that think Trump is gonna come out and look totally incompetent, you might want to temper your expectations.Ā  The guys having rallies on the regular...that's a lot of practice.Ā  The recent clip with the wiggly podium where he quickly quipped about things tending to lean left shows he can still respond in the moment.Ā  Moreover he has much more wiggle room than Biden: he'll completely juke to the middle and can discard much of the nutso messages since he knows his followers understand he is doing this to get elected and won't hold him to account (i.e. his base gives him much more rope than Biden's).

Ā

Honestly, right now, I'm more worried about Biden.Ā  Yes he's competent yada yada...but even in the state of the Union when his message was clear and pretty strong, he appeared old...and sometimes didn't enunciate clearly.Ā  Anyone who is gonna be swayed by debate performance at this point is gonna lock in on those superficialities rather than hear the competence behind the message.

Ā

We'll see how it goes.Ā  Right now I think the pressure is all on Biden and Trump is risking nothing.Ā  Moreover Trump has far more practice (yes with his crazy nut followers, but its still standing at a podium in bright lights) and Biden has less wiggle room to work in.Ā  I'd say its pretty even odds how this thing comes out.

I don't get why people think this.Ā

Ā

Trump is going to deflect and ignore any questions as much as possible and use them to spin into his talking points.Ā  In fact, he has learned that if he's the "Fox News talking points doll" they will love him so much.Ā

Ā

Within the first 5 minutes of any Trump appearance we get this:

Ā

"Joe Biden is the worst President since Jimmy Carter.Ā  I mean Jimmy is probably happy..."

Ā

"Joe Biden's open borders are destroying the country...."

Ā

"We have millions of people flooding into this country.Ā  South America is emptying its prisons, so many terrorists are already here."Ā Ā

Ā

"Inflation is rampant..."

Ā

"When I left office I made America so great, I didn't even use that slogan last time.Ā  But now, after 4 years of Joe Biden's policy, our country is in tremendous danger.Ā  You need me to Make America Great Again!Ā  Under me it was so great.Ā  Joe Biden Destroyed it all."

Ā

Are you all ready to hear it called "the China virus"?Ā

Ā

"Fake news media..."Ā

Ā

"Putin would've never invaded Ukraine if I was President. Octover 7 would never have happened. Because Iran was broke when I left.Ā  Joe Biden gave billions to Iran."Ā

Ā

You can play bingo with his schtick.Ā  Yet the media doesn't call it a schtick.Ā  They treat this selfish prick giving false promises as a legitimate candidate.Ā  Everything he shouts from the rooftops is bull****.Ā  Even though he just recycles his rally talking points, they never raise the bar.Ā

Ā

This is the biggest Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt platform you have ever seen.

Ā

Agree with all of this. I don't know what Biden's team is working on for a strategy. But he needs to be ready to list the things that Trump claims and simply say "He's lying...... again" then provide a brief fact-checked stat and tell people to look it up themselves. Pull out Trump saying he doesn't care about his supporters, he just wants their vote as maybe the only true thing he's said in a long time. He turns on everyone he hires at some point. Cheated on every wife he's had. Why would we think he isn't cheating on the people who support him? "He talks about me being on drugs, but he's the one posting on social media at 3am. You're telling me that a 78 year old, clearly overweight man who is doing this.... isn't on something? Maybe his private Dr., whose name he couldn't remember a few times at a rally, is overprescribing something that keeps him up all night."

Ā

There is no downside in making it personal now.Ā

Ā

But if Trump were smart he'd be wooing a moderate GOP pick as the VP, which he's not doing. It would be smart to pick Haley to get her votes, rather than just expecting her voters to show up for him.

Ā

Personally, I hope he makes a bad VP pick and performs poorly at the debate. I don't think he will skip it, his ego won't allow it. But I hope Biden pins him on the 'proof' he has for election fraud...we wouldn't be in this mess if 40% of the public didn't believe those lies.

And if you doubt... see how the right blasts all crimes and murders by illegal immigrants.Ā  This cycle has lasted for at least a decade when the right wants to go full anti-immigrant.Ā

Ā

You would think that "native born Americans" never rape and murder children.Ā  Let's take 1 bad example of an immigrant crime and then amplify, AMPLIFY it.Ā Ā

Its not normal to already say your guy is going to lose before the debate, its definitely not normal to say you already lost to the other guy because he's using some magical debate enhancing drug that can't be named. Fox News has low expectations of Trump, as they should. I've never seen Trump juke or maneuver any kind of speech in his entire life. The only one that really stuck was when he told Clinton she would be in jail. He has that one hit...from eight years ago. I guess not falling over at the podium too... I guess. Maybe Trump can tap into some of his silver tongued past, but dude is definitely a shell of his former self. His rallies can attest to that.

Ā

If Trump's rallies are training camp, I'd be worried about the season. The guy is glitching out hard, he has no schtick at his rallies anymore. He doesn't spin talking points, he doesn't talk policy, he talks about random, dementia topics like sharks, even numbers and Hannibal Lecter. Asking him a single question and letting him ramble on for two whole uninterrupted minutes will be gold. Trump might be able to hold it together, but when exactly he done that as of late? When he was ranting at rallies? Rambling inside and outside of courtrooms? When he's humiliating himself during softball GOP interviews? Where is this poised Trump that everyone fears so much? Biden thrives in this environment and Trump doesn't have any sycophants to cheer and reassure him that he's the best ever. Trump may not be a bumbling mess when he's out there, but I think those of you thinking he's going to act like a humble, civil servant will be quite shocked. His mind is mush, he won't be learning any new strategies. His debate strategy has been leaked and its a complete joke from top to bottom, this man was setup to fail. He might as well be a wax figurine under hot lights for 90 minutes while the GOP hopes he doesn't melt for some reason. This is the perfect conditions for a good ol' fashioned meltdown.

Doesn't matter. Trump could get up in front of a crowd and just engage in belching and farting for 90 minutes and they will still vote for him, because MAGAts are convinced that Biden is the worst POTUS in history.

@Simmsy

His rallies are exactly what i have posted.Ā  His script is about 80% the same things over and over.Ā  His people want to see him rip Joe Biden, rip on Immigration and MAGA his mind out. And he's gonna filibuster his answers.

Ā

I think it will be interesting if the moderators try to stick on one subject for 10 to 15 minutes.

Ā

But anyone who loves this country and is serious about it has got to see that Trump is a very dangerous and scary joke.

That's true, a Trump rally is really like a WWF Smackdown event with politics thrown in. I don't have much faith in people seeing him as dangerous, as far as the independents go...why should it be so hard for them to make that decision?

How is it not dangerous to have a guy who has the most criminal convictions in his orbit?Ā  Biden should just go through his list of pardons.Ā  Roger Stone.Ā  Manafort.Ā

Ā

His rank criminality and corruption were not really on display last time. He's a criminal and a liar who is only in it for himself.Ā  How can we trust him to be the head of our country again?Ā Ā

Ā

Of course people like us wonder how there are so many undecideds, a Biden knockout of Trump will make a really big impact on them.Ā  I really do hope they discuss the rampant cult worship of Trump. It's truly bizarre.

If only the Dems realized that. They keep thinking Trump is just going to foul up the vote counting, when they should be preparing for full-on violence.

Prepare for war whether it comes to that or not. Include protecting the Electoral College as well as the Capital. Fencing with armed National Guard every two feet with orders to fire on anyone trying to breach the fencing.

It's very bad.

Ā

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/21/trump-overtakes-biden-campaign-fundraising-00164384

Ā

Trump raised so much last month he erased Bidenā€™s cash advantage

Ā

Quote

Former President Donald Trumpā€™s huge May fundraising haul erased President Joe Bidenā€™s longstanding cash advantage as the two gear up for a rematch.

Ā

Trumpā€™s campaign had $116.6 million in the bank at the end of May, compared to $91.6 million for Biden.

Ā

It wasnā€™t due to poor fundraising on the incumbentā€™s part ā€” Bidenā€™s campaign saw a decent fundraising rebound in May after a weak showing the month prior. But Trumpā€™s fundraising while he was on trial in New York that month, punctuated in the final days when he was convicted, was enough to surpass Biden in campaign cash, something that had long been seen as a crucial strength of his.

Ā

The latest campaign finance filings with the Federal Election Commission also revealed how Biden has continued to build out his campaign apparatus, while Trump has largely held onto cash. And down-ballot races are also heating up, with party committees and other outside groups bringing in ā€” and spreading around ā€” more cash than before.

After months of a relatively sleepy start, the real money race has begun.

Ā

Those are among the takeaways of the campaign finance reports filed by presidential campaigns, party committees and a handful of other groups on Thursday. The reports covered all activity for the month of May.

Letā€™s be honest, since the Sino-Russian/Saudi billionaires dark-money strategy to flood our political process with disinformation, chaos and bad actors came into focus a few years back, EVERY ā€œRIGHT WINGā€ CANDIDATE IN EVERY ELECTION has enjoyed a massive advantage in campaign ā€œcontributionsā€.

Ā

That $50M from Thorton Mellon is just cover for the $50B toward election dark ops that Vlad and Xi/Kim agreed to drop during their BRICS love fest this month.

maybe. But when was the last time he stayed on topic? So, a question is asked about X..... either he can't let go of something earlier, or he will take a question about inflation and end up talking about a million other things..... with no cheering. No audience interaction. No clapping.Ā
