China
GOP scrambles after audio reveals candidate in must-win seat blasting Donald Trump Republican leadership in Ohio is scrambling after their preferred candidate to take on longtime Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur was caught on tape blasting former President Donald Trump, reported Politico on Friday. Former state Rep. Craig Riedel was previously their favorite to deny a second primary nomination to scandal-plagued J.R. Majewski, who has already earned endorsements from a handful of figures like U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance. But "last week, an audio tape surfaced of Riedel calling Donald Trump 'arrogant' and vowing not to endorse the former president," reported Ally Mutnick and Olivia Beavers. "All over the world they are pouring into our country." Trump used the same "poisoning the blood" language during an interview with The National Pulse, a right-leaning website, that was published in late September. It prompted a rebuke from the Anti-Defamation League, whose leader, Jonathan Greenblatt, called the language "racist, xenophobic and despicable." Jason Stanley, a Yale professor and author of a book on fascism, said Trump's repeated use of that language was dangerous. He said Trump's words echoed the rhetoric of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, who warned against German blood being poisoned by Jews in his political treatise "Mein Kampf". "He is now employing this vocabulary in repetition in rallies. Repeating dangerous speech increases its normalization and the practices it recommends," Stanley said. "This is very concerning talk for the safety of immigrants in the U.S." Link Fascist.

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own. V. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused. VII. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word. Fergasun
DeSantis having no shot. Christie and Desantis need to drop out to at least give the never Trumpers a chance in the primaries. The GOP is really going to allow him to quote Putin, spew Hitler-anti-immigrant garbage and not seriously attack him? Actually, seems like Roe leaving is a bit of a surprise. But, why do politicians need consultants? Ugh...

As we've seen, there pretty much is no such thing as a "Never Trump Republican". Two. Doesn't look like anybody but Trump has a chance.
Fergasun
Senators Romney, Lankford, JD Vance and Rep. Nancy Mace are Republicans who will be on Sunday AM talk shows. Is it wrong for me to think that they should be questioned about Trump channeling Adolph Hitler with his rhetoric about immigrants poisoning the blood of America? Why do they all seem to get free passes on this? Edit: i guess that was last weekend. This weekend Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Lindsey Graham, Tony Gonzalez, and Johm Cornyn will be on... but my point still stands. Fergasun
GOP is not ready for the fallout over this. Its going to be 10 to 20 years and then we'll have Roe v. Wade back. It may even take a Constitutional amemdment, but the SCOTUS just flipped the issue in a ridiculous way. There are going to be cases on a monthly basis like Kate Cox. Were exceptions for the mom always intended to be "nah.. just kidding about exceptions."
Jumbo
A long time ago I thought Haley might be some kind of comparatively bright spot for a dimly lit GOP. It was a briefly lived hope. It wasn't long before she revealed herself as another worthless, no integrity, self-seeking gasbag. Sure, she's still not as bad as trump, de santis, or, sadly, many other gopers in Congress or governor's mansions but she's still just another meatsack now. **** her. 2

PeterMP
Here's a more full answer on the topic. She essentially says Texas should change their law but doesn't get into what she would do as President if they don't. Or would do as President to help people in that situation. ixcuincle
"but polls mean nothing this early." "The accumulation of troubling polls for Biden has made it harder for Democrats to dismiss them, leading to a fresh set of conversations among Biden officials and allies about whether the president and his team need a shift in strategy. And now Democrats in competitive races are growing increasingly worried about Biden damaging their own electoral prospects. "
