Yes but only if Dan is still selling.  They just extended him and now the team will be on the hook for that contract.  Wouldn't make sense if Dan is in the middle of a sale.

Don’t think the Sale is impacted at all really. Dan is about to drop $8Bn.

Im not suggesting that firing Turner would impact the sale.  Im just thinking if there is a pending sale it might make sense that they wouldn't be making moves until the new owner was in.  But who knows, there isn't a lot of examples to look at for what is typical.

it supposedly is a Rivera decision. So it shouldn’t matter at all about the sale.

I don’t think it really has anything to do with the sale, and doesn’t reveal anything about the likelihood (or not) of a sale. The money burnt on coaching contracts (or hiring new ones) doesn’t come directly out of Snyder’s bank accounts or something. The team itself as an entity has financial accounts, spending from earnings. That’s what he’s selling, the whole enchilada. Like if your local restaurant is selling to someone who is going to keep running it similarly, they don’t stop ordering inventory or paying the electric bill. That’s all part of the operational costs of the business that’s being sold. It’s factored in.

Never mind that it’s pennies compared to billions of dollars.

Hopefully Rivera is next... clean house!

If Rivera was going anywhere he wouldn’t be making adjustments to his own staff. They’d just be fired wholesale before he had a chance to individually fire his assistants. This makes it ironclad that Rivera is staying (which was already extremely likely with the timing of the sale).

The team has to operate as if. The sale can’t hold up business as usual.

Yes it would be a bigger act of coaching malpractice and administration than RR has already committed.  It's also likely that the new owner will have to roll with the decisions being made right now by RR and his crew. In that way RR is serving as a trustee which has got to be more palletable then if DS was calling the shots.

RR is getting another season to figure it out. Jackpot situation for him. Hopefully he gets it right

I don't agree... Rivera is operating as him being back next year (as he should). But that does not mean that when then new owner comes in, he wont fire the HC. That has happened many times in other franchises.

If Snyder does not sell this year (other than cutting my veins with a plastic spork) he will also most likely keep Rivera

I could easily see Reid letting him go, they have a good relationship but the entire Chiefs fanbase has been wanting this guy to be hired away forever so they can freshen things up, he’s not that highly thought of by the fans. Obviously he’s very highly thought of by Reid, who would likely let him make a lateral move if it improved his chances of being a HC someday (this is all assuming he doesn’t have HC interest this cycle—he’s interviewed over a dozen times and not gotten hired so that wouldn’t be that surprising).

The owner won’t be in place to do that until after FA even happens, likely. There will be nobody left to hire except for unemployed and unqualified people, at that point it’s too late in the cycle to start over and put together a staff.

Welp, looks like the whole board had it right when we called for his termination after the DAL game lol.

But if Ron in his presser said he still wants to be run first/pound the ball, we're screwed no matter who we bring in. Ron the dinosaur needs to go too if that's the case.
