McCardell may be released after June 1st, I'd rather the team try to sign him and use our draft picks to fill other needs.

And what happens if Skaggs or McCants becomes some other teams McCardell because we are too blind to see that we have youth size speed and work ethic with the both of them.<br /><br />As well as a very friendly cap friendly contract with them both.

I feel the same way - the Redskins historically don't develop young talent very well. Really the only guy we've 'groomed' in a long time would be Thrash. <br /><br /> If we won't allow kids like Brandt, Sulfstead, Leverette, McCants and others in a game once in a while, how on earth can they develop?

Spurrier is looking to acquire an impact receiver still. I see Green and Gardner being major contributors but Spurrier is probably going to acquire Gaffney or Caldwell to round out the trio. <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="smile.gif" /> <br /><br />I don't think he is enamored of Skaggs, McCants and some of the other younger receivers on the roster, at least not as much as Marty was last year.<br /><br />If Gaffney is around at #18 I bet he will be here.<br /><br />If not, then expect the Skins to go lineman at #18 and then move up to a higher pick in round 2 from where they are now to select Reche Caldwell if he is still available.<br /><br />Wide receiver will be either the #1 or #2 pick this year.
