Not according to our SOS though.

https://www.tankathon.com/nfl

The strength of our schedule through the first 6 weeks is weaker than that of the Bears, Jags, and Steelers:

Us: .53

Bears: .54

Jags: .54

Steelers: .56

EDIT: and technically, the strength of schedules through week 6 only would look like this if I consider ties correctly:

Us: .53

Bears: .56

Steelers: .56

Jags: .59

Why does tankathon has us listed at 12? I always go by their list to get the pick order.

Edit: Looks like NFL.com has us at 9 though. You are right

I think it depends on what they use for strength of schedule...they may have also included the current records of future opponents, which I didn't use.

Do you understand the odds of this happening?

Probably about as high as them screwing up another 1st round qb.

reference: history

I know, I know, but that doesn’t mean you just give up.  And I would submit the same line of thinking w regards to winning as well.  At least this gives a modicum of enjoyment unlike the deflating feeling of ruining another kid’s hopes and dreams.  We get to look forward to our own hopes and dreams being crushed.

well, let's see.  Hurts and Prescott.  Tom Brady is a 6th. Geno Smith is a 2nd.  Russell Wilson is a 3rd.  Kirk Cousins is a 4th. Derek Carr is a 2nd.  So is Jimmy Garrapolo

So if you're an NFL team you have a 1 in 4 chance of getting good  at some point  in their career with a non-first rounder QB.  If Davis Mills does something for the Texans or Ehlinger for the Colts or Heinicke or Howell do something for us it will just increase

Do you understand why we keep "screwing" up 1st round QBs?

Its not a 1 in 4 chance. You clearly havent looked into it at all. A top 1-15 QB is roughly 1 in 3. 16-32 is roughly 1 in 5. Rd 2 7% Rd3 is roughly 5. Anything day 3 is >5%

Hurts and Carr are the ONLY 2nd rounders who have done anything in the last decade. Geno is a career back up. Russ is the only 3rd rounder in a decade. Kirk is 11 years ago. Dak is 7. Tom is 22. Youre proving my point here and dont even realize it.

Then what's the point of having scouts?

Are you serious?

There's no way to eliminate risk in first round draft pick selections outside of trading away the pick. Can't pick a bust if you don't have a pick.

They scout the people after the first round too

well, what was your point?

I am sick of the portion of the fanbase who acts like getting the top QB prospect will make this team great.  No, if you've go no faith in anything this team does then you should accept we'd be the team that would draft Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning.  Or maybe we'd get Andrew Luck, but then we'd be just like the Colts and draft so poorly around him he retires years before he needed too
