2023 Comprehensive Draft Thread

I like Restrepo for a slot guy from Miami. Dude just decleated a guy blocking and is their top receiver. Later round flier type.

Will Anderson is vastly overrated. Undisciplined and not a game breaker. Late hit, missing tackles, not striving for more than just doing his job. You want a guy like that to do their job for their team and when that role clears come back and make a play. He doesn’t.

Well that sack late in the game was about as perfect time for it. He got there insanely quick

I’d have to watch again but it looked like Texas’ OL let him free. But I’ve been watching on and off going back and forth. So maybe he made a move and came free. Looked like there were two guys in the QB’s lap

What was our best draft class of the last 10 years in which the players selected mostly ended signing new deals?

I'd like to reply to my.own question with the 2019 draft class.  Very rarely do we find 2 guys on draft Nighy who are worthy of a nfl 53.

Sweat and Tmac are worthy of our best draft class in the last 20 years.

Wanted to come in and gloat a little bit about Davis Mills. I had him very highly rated in the 21 draft thread and got jabbed pretty good about it. First half of last year I thought I was wrong. Turns out I wasnt. The guy is a perfect fit for the NFL game. Not saying he is the next Brady obviously. But he has a chance to be a top 10 QB in this league. You hit on some and some you dont. :)

QB WR LT CB Pass Rusher.

Those are the 5 positions I want in the first round.

We’ve clearly taken the decision not to redo contracts and push money out, resulting in the vast majority of our ‘22 cap space being utilised.

There’s a view on next years offseason for sure, and looking at some contracts on the books, plus the real value picks in the first round, it really should be leaning heavily towards OT, CB, Edge with that first pick.

This OT class is arguably the weakest in years unfortunately. I cant see them going edge AGAIN. CB is weird cause all of the main brain group have zero history of drafting CBs early as a collective

Fair points. Couple of situations to unfold, in particular at edge. Youngs health, the contract situation with Sweat unless they stick with the option. Fuller and WJ3 have weighty deals next season which I can’t see us keeping on the books, well not both anyway. Early days in the season yet.

I'll tell ya what I LOVE about Restrepo. 2 things you can't teach. Extremely hard worker bordering on being an obsession and super high football IQ. You won't find many guys that work harder AND have a football IQ higher than X. He does all the little things that end up being big things. Small details matter.

Speaking on his football IQ, as a true freshman in the Covid season. He was put back as a punt returner at Clemson. Ball bounces and hits a Clemson player at about the 10 yard line. X picks it up inside the 10 and tries to return it. People are screaming about such a "bad decision". He knew the rules.

I agree. Late rounder that, with his intangibles, could stick around for a while.

I have a friend that had his son at the Manning Passing Academy this past summer. He's not a scout by any means but he said Levis was the QB that was there that he thought was the best over that weekend. Pretty much all of the top college QB's were in attendance. He didn't know much about him before the camp but he stood out to him.
