Mayer is the old school in-line guy who can catch, but I doubt he'll be as versatile at the next level as some hope. Mayer and Kincaid have pretty different skillsets, but neither have the full package. The true TE unicorn of the draft is Darnell Washington. It's a gamble thinking he'll develop into everything you want a TE to do. But he's the closest to being that perfect TE prospect we've seen in awhile. The gamble is that he wasn't asked to be a receiving weapon, because the team he was on, the national champs, were loaded already. Big body loves to block, Big target that can run and move chains, Redzone. Hugh Hands, my pick too.

Gonz is the only CB with the size that we like, that's really a lock to be a good pick at 16, unless you really want Kelee. (I do)

Koolblue13
Looking at Rons drafts in Carolina I notice two things. 1- almost always Oline, Dline, DB 2- He will double up. 2 DTs, 2 CBs(took CB three consecutive rounds one year), 2 LBers, which he did twice. Also drafted 8 linebackers, so I don't know what happened to that. I'd like to go back to that lots of linebackers thing. Only 2 TE's though, both day 3, but did draft a FB once. punter too.

Can’t help but think Bieniemy will want a new set of weapons to integrate into the rosters. Not idea what rounds, but I can see TE,RB,WR all coming in. Might have to go QB as an UDFA. Its worth noting we are already up to about 75 contracted players. Then 8 draft picks, maybe more if we move back. It is going to be another year of limited UDFA, so we may snag a handful of very useful priority UDFA by offering a little money cash to them. Warhead36
I think we'll definitely take a TE but perhaps not at 16 unless EB really falls in love with someone and sells Rivera on him. Good pick for round 2 or with our compensatory round 3 though. I think round 1 is a lock to be a CB unless a LT prospect falls.

If our preferred CB is gone I think we move back.
Warhead36
JPJ is still my top CB but I'd be happy with Ringo or Gonzalez. If all three are gone then I really hope we can trade down. Maybe Robinson the RB will be available and some contender who wants one more piece moves up to take him(someone like the Bengals or Bills).

While I differ with some folks here regarding the strength of the OT class, which I believe is fairly deep with sleepers, Paris is clearly the best OT of the group.
skinny21
So… anyone ready with a short (at least semi-realistic) wishlist of prospects per round? For discussion’s sake, I’d suggest we avoid trades…

I'm a little concerned that 16 is a dead zone for finding a top guy in an area we need. To me the only elite level position player likely to fall to us is Bijan Robinson and I really don't think we should use that pick on a RB. I like Porter a lot and see him as a good fit. Love Branch and not too early for him as a player, he is top 10 talent. Issue is they hold as he is more a safety/Hybrid and go later in the draft....maybe another favorite of mine Skinner Edited March 18 by DWinzit

The staff/FO has a history of taking RB high. Bijon would have huge immediate impact on the team. Arguably more than any other pick we could potentially make. Bears aren't taking WR that high. They have DJ Moore & Claypool. They either take Bijon, Paris Johnson, or best defender available.

I think there will be a bunch of teams behind us eyeballing Bijan, Mayers and the top 3 WRs and itching to get ahead of each other. Bijans floor will be the Chargers at 21. If I had to take one in the first it would be Washington. I am not touching Mayer in the first round. After his combine performance I went back and watched a bunch more tape on him. His lack of burst clearly shows up. I would take him in the second though. I would also take Musgrave and possible Kincaid in the second. After that the depth is really good. Laporta, Whyle, Kuntz, Latu and Schoonmaker all interest me to some degree. I really like Whyle in the 4th or 5th. 59 minutes ago, Koolblue13 said: Gonz and Spoon will be gone for sure I am not so sure on this anymore.
