Funny thing is he never had a #1 hit. Party Up only got as high as #27. That’s crazy. But I remember when Get At Me Dog came out. It changed ****. There was absolutely nothing grimey like that out. It was a breath of fresh air to hip hop dominated by reused 1970’s samples.

 

You just think of all the names that didn't do that...Not Jay-Z, not Eminem, not NAS, not Lil Wayne, not Kanye, not 50 Cent, not Busta Rhymes...
