Hey, W claimed that for 12 years, he lived in a Ft Worth hotel suite that was owned by a campaign donor.  So He could run for office in Texas.

Republicans rushed to place Amendment C on the June ballot to thwart a voter-initiated referendum on expanding Medicaid, scheduled for November. If Amendment C had passed on Tuesday, it would have changed the rules of that upcoming referendum—raising the threshold for passage to a tricky 60 percent.

Instead, the Medicaid expansion now only needs to clear 50 percent in November. Even in a ruby red state, that is an achievable goal. Since 2018, Medicaid expansion initiatives have met that threshold in all six states that have voted on it—Idaho, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Utah.

What a POS.  This is the kind of candidate the GOP regularly puts forth for elections nowadays.

Ex-wife accuses top Missouri GOP Senate candidate of abuse

ormer Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, now a leading Republican Senate candidate, was physically abusive and demonstrated such “unstable and coercive behavior” that steps were taken to limit his access to firearms, according to new allegations from his ex-wife revealed in court records on Monday.

The sworn affidavit from Sheena Greitens is part of an ongoing child custody dispute in Missouri. A public affairs professor at the University of Texas, she sought divorce from Eric Greitens after a sex scandal which led to his resignation as governor in June 2018. She’s now asking the court to move the custody case to Austin in part to spare her children from renewed public attention as Eric Greitens tries to mount a political comeback.

Eric Greitens’ campaign did not immediately comment Monday. An attorney for Greitens couldn’t be reached for comment. The allegations could complicate his bid to emerge from Missouri’s Aug. 2 primary as the GOP nominee and potentially jeopardize his party’s chance to hold onto a key Senate seat in the general election.

In the affidavit, Sheena Greitens casts her ex-husband as someone who threatened to use his political connections and influence in order to destroy her reputation to win custody of the children.

“Prior to our divorce, during an argument in late April 2018, Eric knocked me down and confiscated my cell phone, wallet and keys so that I was unable to call for help or extricate myself and our children from our home,” Sheena Greitens wrote in the filing. “I became afraid for my safety and that of our children at our home,” later adding that his “behavior included physical violence toward our children, such as cuffing our then-3-year-old son across the face at the dinner table in front of me and yanking him around by his hair.”

Eric Greitens’ ex-wife seeks records from governor’s office detailing ‘abusive’ behavior

Sheena Greitens’ attorney thinks the governor’s office may have proof to bolster claims that her client’s ex-husband, Eric Greitens, was prone to violence.

As part of the couple’s child custody battle in Boone County court, attorney Helen Wade filed a records request with the governor’s office asking for documents regarding Eric Greitens losing access to firearms, or any that describe behavior by the former governor characterized as criminal, abusive or threatening.

According to the response she received from the governor’s office, her request generated nearly 13,000 records, which she is scheduled to receive Aug. 3 — the day after voters decide whether Eric Greitens should be the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate.

Many, if not most, of those records could be unrelated to Eric Greitens’ behavior during his short tenure as governor before resigning from office in June 2018 to settle a felony charge and avoid impeachment.

A Post made by you in the Trump Riot Aftermath thread.

>>>>

Have you seen the current polls? A landslide is looking to be a sure-thing in 2022. I'd bet a lot of money that the GOP has a super majority.

Yes you are correct that land-slides are rare. All signs point to historic GOP wins in 2022 and 24 at the moment.

CNN of all places just reported on the GOPs polling being the highest in 80 years. People are tired of the BS and regret electing Biden. And yes, I think the election was legitimate.

My response is here in Election 22.

>>>A two-thirds supermajority in the Senate is 67 out of 100 senators, while a two-thirds supermajority in the House is 290 out of 435 representatives.<<<

The GOP would need to win 78 seats to win a supermajority in the house and while it's possible, it mostly unlikey. I peg the GOP winning anywhere from 30-50 house seats.  As for the Senate, no way in hell the GOP wins 17 seats to get a Senate supermajority.  At best they get maybe 5-7 Senate seats and I still think the Dems have a chance for a slim majority since the GOP have some nuts as candidates. Though that depends how things are in Late Sept- to election day when voting occurs.

24- The gop are current favs to win in 24 but they aren't winning anything historic.  There's almost 50% country that will never vote for Trump. Trump, if he won would be similar to his 16 win. A non-Trump candidate might do a little better but they aren't winning by any historic margins in 24.

24 is too far way to know how it goes. While Roe v Wade overturned won't impact in 22 it will in 24.  People will have lived 2 years under the GOP Christian Theocratic state. Will have seen women jailed or executed for having abortions.  Contraception will have been banned in most states. God chance gay marriage banned in most states.

So, you likely get to gloat in November 22. You won't be passing anything, of course we know you guys don't want anything. Just investigate the Dems. We know you will try to decertify the 20 election and install Trump back in. Not happening.  Biden may break the veto record his last 2 years.

One more thing; the gop wins it won’t be because new voters decided to go with the gop.

It will be gop voters and gop leaning independents just returning home.

Dem leaning independents and Dems will express their dissatisfaction with Biden and the Dems by staying home and not not voting. They won’t be rushing to vote gop.

Meh not necessarily. Democrats have historically had ****ty turnouts in mid terms and off year elections. Kinda like the party as a whole thinks they can just show up every four years and things will be ok. 😒

That too.

2010- Dems were fat and happy and satisfied. Gop were angry and won the house and almost won the senate.

Midterm- the party that has presidency usually loses seats because their voters are happy and don’t see the need to come out or are dissatisfied and don’t see the need to come out and reward them for not meeting expectations. So, this allows the opposing party’s voters, who are angry, to rule the day and being victory to the opposing party to victory. Only something unusual prevents that. 02- coming off 9/11 and 98- coming off impeachment.

So this year, the gop voters will be coming out in full force; while Dems won’t, even with the 1/6 revelations and roe v Wade being overturned. So, the gop wins control in the fall.

This is it. This is the warning. Right here. If Republicans take power, that means Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are on the chopping block.

So we'll keep the subsidies for wealthy corporations but scrap those pesky entitlements for working folks. Entitlements btw them same folks been paying into since they joined the job force.
